Community Highlights: Meet Barbaros Ekici of Zen Kitchen Remodel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Barbaros Ekici.

Hi Barbaros, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My background started with hands-on experience in cabinetry, remodeling, and design coordination. Working closely with homeowners and seeing the challenges people faced during remodeling projects gave me a deeper understanding of both the construction side and the customer experience side of the industry.

Over time, I realized many clients struggled to truly visualize their future kitchen and often felt overwhelmed by the remodeling process. That inspired me to create Zen Kitchen Remodel — a company focused on making kitchen remodeling more transparent, organized, and design-driven.

One of the biggest differences with our company is that we bring the showroom directly to the client. Through detailed 3D designs and immersive VR walkthroughs, homeowners can experience their future kitchen before construction even begins. It creates much more clarity, confidence, and excitement throughout the process.

Today, Zen Kitchen Remodel specializes in high-end kitchen remodeling projects throughout Weston and Broward County, focusing on premium materials, thoughtful functionality, and a smooth client experience from design to completion.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. Like many growing businesses, one of the biggest challenges was building trust and standing out in a very competitive remodeling market — especially while trying to introduce a different approach from the traditional showroom model.

Another challenge was educating clients on the value of design and planning before construction starts. Many homeowners are used to making decisions during the remodeling process, but we focus heavily on detailed planning, 3D renderings, and VR walkthroughs upfront to avoid surprises later. At first, that required a lot of explanation and patience.

Managing growth while maintaining quality and communication has also been important. In remodeling, every project is highly personal for the homeowner, so staying organized, responsive, and detail-oriented at every stage is critical.

At the same time, those challenges helped shape the company into what it is today. They pushed us to improve our systems, strengthen our process, and focus even more on creating a smooth and transparent experience for clients.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Zen Kitchen Remodel?
Zen Kitchen Remodel is a kitchen remodeling company based in Weston, Florida, focused on creating custom kitchens that feel both functional and personal to the homeowner. We mainly work on full kitchen remodels, custom cabinetry, countertops, layout redesigns, and complete design planning.

One thing that really makes us different is how we approach the design process. Instead of asking clients to imagine everything from samples or drawings alone, we create detailed 3D designs and VR walkthroughs so they can actually experience the kitchen before construction starts. It helps people feel much more comfortable and confident with the project because they can truly visualize the space.

We also don’t operate like a traditional showroom-based company. We bring the design experience directly to the client, which makes the process more convenient and personal.

As a brand, I’m most proud of the trust we build with clients throughout the project. Remodeling can be stressful, so we try to keep communication clear, stay organized, and make the process as smooth as possible from start to finish.

At the end of the day, we want people to feel like their kitchen was designed specifically for how they live — not just something that looks good in pictures.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is spending time with family during weekends and holidays, especially when everyone gathered together around food and conversation. Those moments always felt warm and peaceful to me.

Looking back, I think that’s part of why I ended up loving kitchen design so much. The kitchen is usually where people naturally come together, spend time, and create memories without even realizing it. It’s more than just a functional space — it becomes part of everyday life.

Even today, I still think about that feeling when designing kitchens for clients. I want the space to feel comfortable, welcoming, and personal to the family living there
