Today we’d like to introduce you to Nata Felipe Silva.
Hi Nata Felipe, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Natã, is not easy to spell lol ,cus is a Brazilian name, that my friends here in Miami have simplified to Nate. While I’m a filmmaker by trade, I’m first and foremost a family man, married to Jeh and proud father to Kal-El, Glória, and Vitória, our very own “Big Three.”
They are the engine behind everything I build.
My professional journey is defined by a simple belief: visual storytelling has no borders.
I started over a decade ago with a basic camera and an immense drive to capture the world, a path that has since taken me to 18 countries across every continent.
What began as a local passion in Brazil evolved into a global career, leading me to document the luxury of Monaco, the ancient energy of Egypt, and the creative pulse of Los Angeles.
A significant milestone in my career was 2022, when I worked on my first documentary project with Netflix in the U.S. This was followed by a career-defining 2023: I had a short film selected for the Cannes Film Festival, a project filmed across the U.S., Chile, the Bahamas, and Brazil and was honored with the Content Creator Award in Miami. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of directing and producing for prestigious global brands such as Dior, Aston Martin, and Chopard.
Building on that global foundation, I have been holding key clients here in the Miami market for a couple of years now, including Casa Tua, the renowned Kobi Karp Architecture, Sagrado Café, Bruno Prado, F1 Miami, Prestige Yachts, and many more. These partnerships have allowed me to solidify my expertise in high-end, cinematic visual language within the local community.
In 2026, my trajectory brought me to a new and exciting chapter in Miami. I am currently the Director of the Miami Connection Show By Flow, a groundbreaking talk show produced for the Flow Podcast, filmed entirely on a moving boat in the Miami ocean.
Beyond directing, I am passionate about education; I created the online class “Melhore Seus Vídeos” method to translate complex Hollywood principles into accessible techniques for the next generation of creators.
Today, I am fully immersed in the Miami scene, leading major seasonal projects including upcoming productions for the World Cup, while continuing to bridge the gap between cinematic excellence and the evolving creator economy.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a journey of constant evolution rather than a smooth road. Since my first project in Dubai, working internationally became a standard for me, but the real challenge wasn’t leaving Brazil, it was finding the true value of my art in the global market. Transitioning from a filmmaker who just “records images” to a director who delivers high-value cinematic storytelling required a deep shift in mindset.
The environments themselves have also tested me. Last year, we spent a significant period in Italy, where I immersed myself in the culture and the language. Shortly after, working in London presented a different kind of struggle; the biting cold was a harsh contrast to what I was used to, and it was actually one of the factors that drew me back to the warmth and energy of Miami.
However, the most profound challenge was the “construction phase” of my career. In the beginning, the logistics of global projects meant I couldn’t always have my family by my side. Traveling the world alone was taxing. Today, that has completely changed. Whether I’m filming in London, Japan, Italy, or anywhere else, Jeh and the “Big Three” come with me. Having my family present doesn’t just make the journey easier, it gives me a completely different kind of strength to build and create. My art is now fueled by the stability and inspiration they provide, no matter where in the world we are
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in high-end cinematic direction and visual strategy, bridging the gap between the traditional prestige of filmmaking and the dynamic speed of the digital creator economy. My work is known for its “Hollywood-driven” aesthetic, focusing on intentional lighting, narrative depth, and high production value, regardless of the platform. Whether I am directing a documentary for Netflix, a global campaign for Dior, or a high-stakes talk show on the water, my goal is always to transform an idea into an unforgettable visual experience.
What I am most proud of is the duality of my current career phase. On one hand, I am directing the Miami Connection Show By Flow, which is a technical feat in itself, managing a multi-camera production on a moving boat in the Miami ocean requires a level of precision and problem-solving that few environments demand. On the other hand, I am deeply proud of the “Melhore Seus Vídeos” method. After a decade of filming in 18 countries, being able to distill those years of experience into a system that empowers today more than 43 students and counting to elevate their own content is incredibly rewarding.
What truly sets me apart is this “Global-Local” perspective combined with technical versatility.
I don’t just bring a camera; I bring a decade of international expertise from the world’s most luxury markets, like Monaco and Dubai, directly into the Miami scene. I am a filmmaker who understands that the best gear is useless without a soul behind the lens. My ability to remain creative and deliver “impossible” productions while keeping my family, my core strength, at the center of my journey gives my work a level of authenticity and purpose that clients feel the moment we start a project.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The film and content industry is at a fascinating crossroads.
Over the next 5 to 10 years, I see a significant shift where the barrier to entry will practically disappear due to technology, but the ceiling for true excellence will rise higher than ever.
With the advent of AI, I feel the challenge only increases. I understand that just being “good” is no longer enough. I like to think that “the ease AI generates for us to execute non-noble tasks gives us the possibility to do what really matters and also grants us time to dedicate ourselves to being better.”
This is the core of how I view the future: AI will handle the technical grunt work, but it will never replace the director’s soul, cus the “why” behind a frame, or the human connection on a film set.
I believe we are moving toward an era of Hyper Intentionality. As the market becomes flooded with AI generated content, audiences will crave authenticity and “flawed” human reality more than ever. The big trend won’t just be about high resolution, but about high emotion.
My role, and the future of this industry, will be about mastering these new tools to buy back time time that we must spend focusing on storytelling, building real relationships with clients, and creating experiences that a prompt simply cannot replicate.
or those of us in the high-end market, the next decade will be about being more human, not less.
