Today we’d like to introduce you to Guadalupe Quezadas.
Guadalupe , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Cuba and moved to the United States at the age of 12, a transition that shaped my resilience and determination from a young age. Shortly after arriving, I began working at just 13 years old in nickelodeon, learning early on the value of discipline, independence, and responsibility. Those experiences built the foundation for who I am today—someone who is driven, adaptable, and deeply committed to growth.
As I navigated my teenage years, I embraced opportunities that pushed me outside of my comfort zone, including participating in a reality television show on Univision, Enamorándonos. That experience helped me develop confidence, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of media and public presence. Over time, I discovered a passion not only for being in front of the camera but also for connecting with people and sharing my story authentically.
Academically, I recently graduated with a degree in Psychology, a milestone that represents years of dedication, sacrifice, and perseverance. My journey in school was not easy—I balanced full-time work, academic responsibilities, and personal challenges. Growing up in a household where my mother faces mental health conditions, I naturally stepped into a leadership role, becoming a source of stability and support for my family. That experience deeply influenced my decision to pursue a career in psychology, with the goal of continuing my education toward a bachelor’s and eventually a master’s degree in the field.
Professionally, I currently work as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), where I support children in developing essential life and communication skills. This role has strengthened my passion for helping others and reinforced my long-term goal of becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Alongside my clinical work, I have also built a presence as a content creator, collaborating with brands and creating meaningful digital content. This creative path has opened doors I never imagined, allowing me to merge my personal story with opportunities for growth and financial independence.
Today, I continue to balance multiple roles—working long hours, advancing my education, supporting my family, and growing my platform. Every challenge I’ve faced has shaped my perspective and strengthened my purpose. My story is one of resilience, ambition, and faith in the process. I am proud of how far I’ve come, and even more excited about where I’m going.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced has been both physical and mental exhaustion from constantly balancing multiple responsibilities at once. From a young age, I have worked long hours while continuing my education, supporting my family, and building my career. There were times where I felt overwhelmed, stretched thin, and unsure of how I would keep going. On top of that, growing up in a household where my mother struggles with mental health conditions added an emotional responsibility that shaped my daily life. I often had to be strong not just for myself, but for my family as well. Despite these challenges, I never allowed exhaustion to define me. Instead, it taught me resilience, discipline, and how to keep moving forward even when things feel heavy. Those difficult moments have shaped my character, strengthened my mindset, and continue to motivate me to build a better future.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I currently work as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), where I provide one-on-one support to children, helping them develop communication, behavioral, and life skills that improve their daily functioning and overall quality of life. My work focuses on implementing individualized behavior plans, supporting emotional regulation, and teaching functional communication in both home and school settings. What I specialize in is not just applying techniques, but building genuine connections with my clients—understanding their needs, their environment, and helping them succeed in a way that is meaningful for them and their families.
What I am most proud of is the impact I am able to make, even in small moments—whether it’s helping a child communicate their needs for the first time, successfully transition between activities, or reduce behaviors that interfere with their learning. These moments may seem small to others, but they represent real progress and meaningful change.
In addition to my clinical work, I have built a presence as a content creator, where I collaborate with brands and share aspects of my life, growth, and journey. This has allowed me to expand beyond a traditional career path and create opportunities that align with both my creativity and ambition.
What sets me apart is my ability to balance multiple roles while remaining consistent, driven, and purpose-oriented. I combine empathy with discipline—I understand challenges on a personal level, but I also hold myself to a high standard of growth and responsibility. My background, my experiences, and my work ethic allow me to connect deeply with others while continuously striving to elevate myself both professionally and personally.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned throughout my journey is the value of discipline, respect, and staying true to my own path. Discipline has been the foundation of everything I’ve achieved—it’s what keeps me going on the days I feel exhausted, unmotivated, or overwhelmed. Respect, both for myself and for others, has shaped the way I move through life and build meaningful connections. I’ve also learned the importance of kindness, because you never truly know what someone else is going through. Most importantly, I’ve learned not to compare my journey to anyone else’s. Everyone moves at their own pace, with their own struggles and timing, and comparing only takes away from your own growth. Once I focused on my own path, I was able to appreciate my progress, stay grounded, and continue working toward my goals with confidence and purpose.
