Today we’d like to introduce you to Marta Salerno.
Hi Marta, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Marta Mageart LLC was founded by Italian artist Marta Salerno, known professionally as Marta Make, an internationally recognized contemporary abstract artist and tattoo artist based in Miami. Born near Rome in 1990, Marta dedicated her entire life to artistic creation, developing a distinctive style driven by emotion, performance, and large-scale visual impact.
Her artistic journey began in 2006, when she started tattooing independently at a time when resources and online education were almost nonexistent. This early experience shaped her signature approach, combining technical precision with instinctive creativity and deep psychological expression.
Over the years, Marta evolved beyond tattooing into contemporary fine art, becoming known for creating powerful large-scale abstract works designed for luxury interiors, private collectors, hotels, and high-end real estate spaces. Her work is characterized by bold textures, intense movement, and a strong identity, often inspired by themes of sensuality, feminine power, liberation, and personal transformation.
Today, Marta Mageart LLC represents a bridge between art and luxury design, offering unique statement pieces that elevate architectural spaces and increase emotional value inside modern environments. Marta’s work has attracted an international audience, with collectors and clients across the United States and Europe, and she continues to expand her brand through curated commissions, exhibitions, and exclusive installations.
Her mission is to create artwork that is not only visually striking, but also meaningful, collectible, and timeless, designed to grow in value and impact over time.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Some of the biggest struggles along Marta’s journey came from dealing with hate, judgment, and resistance, especially from Italian people who often have a very rigid mentality about what an artist “should” be.
From the beginning, Marta chose an unconventional path, building her career independently, breaking industry rules, and expressing feminine power in a bold and fearless way. Instead of receiving support, she often faced criticism, jealousy, and harsh judgment, especially in environments where success is not always celebrated.
While others tried to limit her or discredit her, Marta used that pressure as fuel. She kept working, kept evolving, and turned every obstacle into a stronger identity, proving that true talent, vision, and discipline always win over opinions.
That struggle shaped her into the artist and art director she is today: resilient, independent, and unstoppable, with the ability to create value and beauty even in the most challenging environments.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
After 20 years of a solo art career and the creation of a strong international network of artists, Marta Make now offers an exclusive Art Director service for luxury properties and real estate developments. Through a custom curatorial selection of artworks, she designs cohesive collections for entire spaces, from private residences to hotels and high-end buildings.
Her approach goes beyond decoration, she redesigns the soul of a space through art, creating a powerful identity, emotional impact, and elevated aesthetic value. Each project is carefully curated to enhance architecture, strengthen the atmosphere, and increase the long-term value and prestige of the property.
In markets like Miami, many buyers are surrounded by overpriced pieces, fake “luxury” art, and artists who sell hype without real skill. Clients are often afraid of investing in something that has no real value, no technique, and no authenticity. Marta solves this by offering expert guidance as a real, highly skilled artist, trained in painting, sculpture, installations, and luxury materials. She protects the client from scams and ensures every piece chosen meets true artistic and collectible standards.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
For Marta, the fastest way to grow was investing in education, university programs, private courses, and specialized training. That expanded her skills quickly, but it also did something even more powerful: it placed her in rooms with people who were already connected, professional, and moving at a high level.
Another thing that worked well was being present in the right environments, exhibitions, art events, luxury design circles, tattoo conventions, and creative communities. Marta didn’t network by asking for favors, she networked by showing real work, real discipline, and real talent. That naturally attracted the right people.
Marta’s biggest strategy was always this:
focus on becoming so good that people want to connect with you.
Because when your work speaks, networking becomes easy.
And finally, she built her network by being consistent and respectful, following up, staying visible, and building long-term relationships instead of short-term contacts. Over time, that created a strong international circle of artists, collectors, and professionals.
