Conversations with Marc Lanzar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marc Lanzar.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always had a passion for travel and food. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to explore different parts of the world and experience a wide range of cultures through their cuisine. So far, I’ve visited five of the seven New Wonders of the World, with Petra and the Great Wall of China still on my list. That curiosity and appreciation for new experiences have always been a big part of who I am.

The idea for Marc’s Hungry really came together during my MBA program at the University of Florida. I found myself constantly discovering new restaurants, events, and destinations, and I thought, why not share that with others? What started as a simple idea quickly became a platform to highlight unique food and travel experiences, especially across South Florida.

Outside of content creation, I work full-time in research and development within the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on bringing generic drugs to market for both human and animal health. My academic background includes a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami, a master’s degree in Regulatory Compliance from Northwestern University, and an MBA from the University of Florida.

Balancing both worlds has been incredibly rewarding. Marc’s Hungry allows me to express my creativity and connect with people through shared experiences, while my professional career challenges me in a completely different way. Together, they’ve shaped a journey that’s both dynamic and fulfilling.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Becoming a content creator comes with many challenges, especially at the beginning. One of the hardest parts was putting myself out there and trying to build credibility from scratch. Securing collaborations wasn’t easy at first, and there were times when it felt like I was putting in a lot of effort without seeing immediate results.

On top of that, balancing everything was a constant challenge. I was managing a full-time job, while also in graduate school, all while trying to consistently create content and grow Marc’s Hungry. It required a lot of discipline, late nights, and sacrificing downtime.

That said, those challenges were also what pushed me to stay consistent and refine my approach. Over time, things started to build momentum, and the effort began to pay off.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Professionally, I serve as a Director, Regulatory Affairs for a privately owned pharmaceutical company based in Boca Raton. My work focuses on guiding drug development and ensuring regulatory compliance, specifically bringing generic products to market for both human and animal health. It’s a highly technical and detail-oriented field, and I’ve developed a strong specialization in navigating FDA requirements and regulatory strategy.

At the same time, I’ve built Marc’s Hungry as my creative outlet, a platform where I can share my passion for food, travel, and lifestyle experiences. It’s been incredibly rewarding to grow something from the ground up while balancing a demanding full-time career.

One of the things I’m most proud of is earning two graduate degrees in just four years, a MS in Regulatory Compliance from Northwestern University and an MBA from the University of Florida, all while launching and growing my brand. That experience really speaks to my drive and ability to manage multiple priorities at a high level.

What sets me apart is that combination of analytical thinking and creativity. I’m equally comfortable in a highly regulated, scientific environment as I am creating engaging content and building relationships. I also genuinely enjoy networking and connecting with others, which has played a huge role in both my professional growth and the success of Marc’s Hungry.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest piece of advice is simple: network, network, network. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Send those messages to restaurants, reach out to PR and marketing firms, and let them know you’re interested in collaborating. Taking that initiative can open so many doors.

At the same time, consistency is key. There will be tough days where growth feels slow or opportunities aren’t coming in, but you have to keep going. Progress doesn’t happen overnight, and showing up consistently is what makes the difference.

I’d also say don’t rush your content. Take the time to create something you’re genuinely proud of. High-quality reels and thoughtful storytelling will always stand out more than posting just to stay active.

Finally, really take the time to understand your brand and your long-term vision. Know what you want to be known for and stay aligned with that. It will make your content more authentic and help you build something that lasts.
