Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Monroe.
Hi Nicole , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always been a lover of reading. My mom had her own book club and I would sit by the door and listen to what her book club sisters were reading. Now some of those books I had no busy hearing about at that age, but my passion for stepping into the books and imagining myself as those characters was it for me. Everyone always told me when I speak. I speak as if I’m painting a picture and was told I should writes books. I always laughed it off until I actually starting believing it. One thing I always say you never know unless you try. Which is what I did I wrote ny first book in 2024 and published it in 2025.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I won’t say its been a struggle, but what it has been is surprising. Learning new task such as being an author has been a adventure while navigating everyday life of wife and mom. Sometimes I want nothing but to just work on writing but I can’t. Also, wanting your work to be received positively and hoping people don’t drag your work.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a nurse by day for past 15 years. I have worked a bit of everywhere. Psych nurse, cardiac nurse, labor and delivery, postpartum, surgery, and clinical nursing. One thing about me if you know me is that I don’t play about my money, and I will fill out an application in a hot second. Just call me Mrs. resume.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I could say so many things but the one word that comes up is resilience. Life will always through curve balls but managing to bounce back and adjust and keep it moving is the highlight.
