Check Out Jennie Alfonso’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennie Alfonso.

Hi Jennie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey began with a passion for serving others through beauty. In 2018, I launched Belleza by JLA LLC, offering professional hair, makeup, and permanent makeup services for special events. What started as a creative outlet quickly grew into a meaningful business where I could help women feel confident, seen, and empowered during some of the most important moments of their lives.

Over time, my calling began to expand beyond the beauty chair. Through life’s challenges and my personal walk with God, I felt led to pursue deeper purpose. I began studying Bible ministry and theology, allowing my faith to shape not only who I am, but where I’m going. This season of growth has led me to step into a new vision: La Vid Café—a Christ-centered space designed to bring community together through faith, conversation, prayer, and support.

Today, I continue to grow both spiritually and professionally, merging my passion for service, faith, and community. What started as beauty on the outside has evolved into a mission to impact lives from the inside out

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—there have been many challenges along the way. One of the biggest has been balancing multiple roles: being a wife, a mother of three, a caregiver to my husband through serious health issues, while also working full-time, running a business, and continuing my studies. There were seasons of emotional exhaustion, financial strain, and moments where I questioned if I could keep going.

Building my business also came with its own obstacles—growing a clientele, maintaining consistency, and navigating uncertainty, especially during difficult life seasons. Spiritually, I’ve had moments where I felt distant or overwhelmed, even while knowing God was with me.

But through every challenge, I’ve learned resilience, discipline, and faith. Those difficult seasons didn’t break me—they refined me and helped shape the purpose I’m walking in today.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As an artist and creative, my work centers around enhancing natural beauty while creating meaningful, confidence-building experiences for every client. Through Belleza by JLA LLC, I specialize in professional hair, makeup, and permanent makeup for weddings, special events, and personal transformations. My approach is intentional—I don’t just focus on the final look, but on how each person feels when they leave my chair: seen, valued, and empowered.

I’m known for my attention to detail, personalized touch, and ability to create a calm, welcoming environment where clients can truly be themselves. Many of my clients trust me not only for my skill, but for the care and connection I bring into every appointment.

What I’m most proud of is building something that reflects both excellence and purpose—serving others with integrity while balancing my roles as a mother, wife, and entrepreneur. What sets me apart is that my work goes beyond beauty; it’s rooted in compassion, faith, and a genuine desire to uplift others from the inside out.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The most important quality behind my success is resilience. Life hasn’t always been easy, but the ability to keep showing up—through challenges, uncertainty, and growth—has been key to everything I’ve built. Alongside resilience, I’d say faith and discipline play a huge role. Faith keeps me grounded in purpose, and discipline helps me stay consistent even when I don’t feel motivated.

Those three—resilience, faith, and discipline—have allowed me to grow, adapt, and continue moving forward with intention in every area of my life and work.
