Life & Work with Brooke Sutaris of Fort Lauderdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Sutaris.

Hi Brooke, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
When I was 18, I moved to Florida from a small town called Oneonta, Ny with a dream, all by myself. I went to college for dance, but I knew that I wanted to do hair for a living so I ended up dropping out and applying for Aveda Institute South Florida. In school, I became one of the top students at Aveda. I hopped right into working at a salon after I got my license, and I became the highest producer of the salon 20 years old. When I told my parents I wanted to start my career in hair they were worried I wouldn’t make a livable wage. When Covid happened I was very established with clientele, and I decided to move and drop everything to work for a celebrity hairstylist in Atlanta. A year later, I decided to move back to Fort Lauderdale and open my business. I have now grown my business into a very profitable one specializing in hair extensions and color. I always knew I’d be an entrepreneur. This is just the beginning for me.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Business isn’t easy, especially with rising costs of hair extensions and color due to tariffs, but I am holding strong, and have the most amazing clientele. The hardest part was jumping from a commission salon to running my own llc.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a licensed cosmetologist and salon owner. I originally got my name Brooke Vibrant because I used to do so much fashion color, think blue hair, rainbow hair you name it I’ve done it. Then I was introduced into learning hair extensions. I immediately fell in love with hair extensions and then I ended up having a young client who was only 18 years old in hospice due to terminal illness. It’s actually kind of a sad story on why I ended up having such a passion for hair extensions. She came in wanting the best hair of her life and she was my first hair extension client. I ended up custom coloring hair extensions and her hair to match because she wanted her hair to look beautiful at her funeral. She passed away about two weeks later and her mother called me and told me how happy she was until the day she passed away. She said the hair extensions and the color gave her so much confidence and she was so very happy. That girl is the reason why I continue to do hair extensions and make my clients extremely happy every single day. Making someone feel confident is what I’m all about.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I am a one woman show, I do everything from the back side of the business to the services.
