Exploring Life & Business with Yulia Bratkovskaya of YB Equestrian

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yulia Bratkovskaya.

Hi Yulia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a life long equestrian, traveled the world doing my art, now settled in USA, moved to Florida about 3 years ago and started a horse riding school under my name and philosophy

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think there is such thing as “smooth road” when you are into growing and getting better 🙂 Getting better literally MEANS to make mistakes and to hit the road bumps 🙂 especially so in a sport. Working with horses is a very unique type of activity – not only it’s a fully non verbal communicaton between you and a large animal, but you also don’t even see each other’ eyes as you sit on top of the horse – it requires developing a set of skills that most of us don’t have, you learn to FEEL a lot, you learn to communicate through every little muscle in your body, you learn very quick processing and reaction time… and while learning all that any mistake might cause you falling off 🙂

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about YB Equestrian?
Myself I am a competitive athlete, my personal passion is to fly over the big jumps on top of the back of a horse.
But for a business I do two things – I teach horses to understand people and I teach people to understand horses. It doesn’t necessarily mean jumping or competing, it’s actually a very interesting deep process of learning to listen and hear, as well as express yourself non verbally, And after you learn that – yes, it’s often very interesting to see how far you can go with your horse – your partner – that’s where jumping or otherwise competing starts.
I guess that philosophy is what sets me apart – the people who are not interested in deep understanding of horses souls, characters and biomechanics, and just want to get on top of them and run and jump and win the ribbons – are not my potential students or clients. There are other barns for those. I emphasize micro signals.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
My life and business have really been built on a very consistent hard work and a looooot of discipline, But I do think that luck still factors in quite a lot 🙂
