Today we’d like to introduce you to Catalina Cucchiani.
Hi Catalina , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Catalina, I am 27 years old and I am the founder of Kids Club Miami, a childcare and household staffing agency based in South Florida.
My path into this field began very organically. Before starting the agency, I worked for several years as a nanny for families across the United States. During that time I developed a deep understanding of what families truly need when they invite someone into their home to care for their children. I also built strong relationships with many parents who trusted my work and often recommended me to other families.
Over time, the demand grew beyond what I could personally handle. I was receiving more requests than I could accept on my own, and that was the moment when I realized there was an opportunity to create something bigger than just my individual work.
That idea became Kids Club Miami. I wanted to build a team of caregivers who shared the same values I had always prioritized: patience, professionalism, warmth and genuine care for families. What started as one caregiver gradually evolved into a full agency that now supports both local families and visitors traveling to Miami.
Today, Kids Club Miami provides a wide range of services including on-demand babysitting, travel and vacation childcare, wedding and event childcare, as well as part-time, full-time and live-in nanny placements. We have supported hundreds of families and have built a strong community largely through trust and word of mouth.
Looking back, the journey has been a process of continuous learning and growth. What began as a simple passion for working with children slowly transformed into a business dedicated to helping families feel supported and confident in the care they receive.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like most things that grow from something very personal, the journey has had many moments that required patience, resilience and constant learning.
In the beginning, one of the biggest challenges was transitioning from working as a single caregiver to building and coordinating an entire team. When you care for one family, your focus is very direct and personal. But as the demand grew, I suddenly had to think about scheduling, communication, logistics, and making sure every family received the same level of care and attention.
Another challenge was building structure behind the warmth. Childcare is deeply human work, but running an agency requires strong systems behind the scenes. Over time I had to learn how to create clear processes, organize communication, and build a team that shared the same values that families trusted from the very beginning.
There were also moments of uncertainty that naturally come with building something in a new country. Starting a business as an immigrant meant learning many things step by step while navigating an unfamiliar environment.
But in many ways those challenges were also the moments that shaped the agency the most. Each obstacle helped me grow as a leader, strengthen the structure of the business and become more intentional about the kind of service and community I wanted to build.
Looking back, the road wasn’t always easy, but every step played a role in shaping what Kids Club Miami has become today
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At the heart of my work is building trust between families and caregivers. Through Kids Club Miami, we specialize in providing thoughtfully coordinated childcare and household support for families who value reliability, professionalism and a high standard of care.
Our services include on-demand babysitting, travel and vacation childcare, wedding and event nannies, as well as part-time, full-time and live-in placements. Because Miami is such an international destination, many of the families we support are visiting the city and staying in hotels while attending events, dinners or conferences. Being able to provide seamless childcare in those environments has become an important part of what we do.
What I’m most proud of is seeing how something that began as my personal work as a nanny gradually evolved into a full agency that now supports hundreds of families. The growth happened very organically through trust and word of mouth, which is something I value deeply.
What sets Kids Club Miami apart is the balance between warmth and refinement. Families experience the genuine, human side of our work — the connection with children, the creativity and energy our caregivers bring — while behind the scenes there is a very thoughtful structure that keeps everything organized and consistent.
We carefully select caregivers, maintain clear communication with families and approach every booking with the same level of attention and care. The goal is to create an elevated childcare experience that feels both professional and personal at the same time.
At the end of the day, what we are most known for is trust. Families know that when they reach out to Kids Club Miami, they are working with a team that takes their time, their environment and their children seriously, while creating a calm and supportive experience for everyone involved.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
For me, networking has always been less about formal strategies and more about genuine relationships. Many of the connections that helped me grow came from simply showing up with consistency, professionalism and care in the work I was already doing.
When I first started working as a nanny, I focused on doing my job well and building real trust with the families I worked with. Over time those relationships naturally expanded into a network. Parents recommended me to other parents, and those connections eventually became the foundation for what later grew into Kids Club Miami.
When it comes to mentors, I believe they don’t always appear in the traditional sense. Sometimes mentorship comes through observing people you admire, learning from their approach, and being open to conversations with people who have more experience in areas you are still developing.
My advice would be to focus first on the quality of your work and the way you treat people. When people feel respected and valued, they remember you. Opportunities, introductions and guidance often come from those authentic relationships.
In the end, networking becomes much more meaningful when it grows naturally from trust and shared experiences rather than from simply trying to collect contacts.
