Check Out Yazz Giraldo Moghaddam’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yazz Giraldo Moghaddam.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey to creating YazzBeauty is both personal and purposeful. Long before I understood the true meaning of beauty, I experienced the opposite. As a child, I was bullied and made to feel that I wasn’t beautiful — words that left a lasting imprint on my self-esteem. For many years, that experience quietly shaped how I saw myself, but it also planted the seed for what would later become my life’s mission.

Over time, I discovered that beauty is not about perfection or fitting into someone else’s definition — it is about self-acceptance, confidence, and recognizing your own worth. That realization transformed me. I also felt the necessity to help other women feel beautiful and powerful. I know how beauty impacts the lives of women, and I know how low self-esteem can ruin our experience in this world.

Before launching YazzBeauty, I built a career as a professional dancer and in media as a TV host and spokesperson for networks such as Univision and CNN. Those years in front of the camera strengthened my voice and deepened my understanding of how powerful it is when someone feels seen, confident, and comfortable in their own skin.

When I created YazzBeauty, I knew I wasn’t just building a makeup brand — I was creating what I wished had existed for my younger self. A brand that reminds women that their beauty is inherent, not conditional. That makeup should never be a mask, but a tool for expression, creativity, and empowerment.

My mission is — and will always be — to uplift women, nurture their self-expression, and help them recognize that they have always been beautiful.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building YazzBeauty has been one of the most rewarding — and demanding — journeys of my life. One of the biggest misconceptions about entrepreneurship is that being your own boss means greater freedom, when in reality it requires an extraordinary level of discipline, resilience, and daily commitment.

When you start a business from scratch, you quickly realize that you don’t just wear one hat — you wear them all. I had to navigate the complexities of e-commerce, immerse myself in the ever-evolving world of social media, learn the fundamentals of business strategy, and, at the same time, step forward as the face and voice of the brand. Each role comes with its own pressure, but together they require constant adaptability and growth. Doing all of that while being a mother and wife, it is quite difficult.

Another significant challenge has been building brand recognition in an incredibly competitive beauty industry. Creating a product is only the beginning; earning trust, telling your story effectively, and carving out a meaningful space in the market takes persistence and long-term vision.

What many people don’t see is the relentless effort behind the scenes — the early mornings, the difficult decisions, the risks, and the unwavering belief you must have in your purpose even before others can see it. Yet every obstacle has strengthened my leadership and reinforced why I started in the first place.

Entrepreneurship has stretched me in ways I never imagined, but it has also shown me that with passion, consistency, and clarity of mission, it is possible to build something that truly resonates with others.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My specialty is offering women and everyone around me high-quality products and a great experience. I have always been known for helping others feel the best version of themselves, and I believe this new chapter in the makeup world and creating fits perfectly with what I came to do in this world. I am proud of myself, proud of keeping up and trying, despite the struggles and the competition. never giving up. Always learning, trying, discovering, and practicing. I do feel I get to know other versions of myself as I embark on this new business and beauty chapter.

What’s next?
As YazzBeauty continues to grow, my next focus is expanding our retail presence across the United States. While we are already selling successfully in Colombia, I strongly believe in the importance of creating meaningful, in-person experiences for our customers.

E-commerce is incredibly powerful and has allowed us to reach women beyond geographical limits. However, beauty is also deeply personal. There is something special about seeing, touching, and experiencing a product face-to-face before making a purchase. I want customers to connect with YazzBeauty not only through a screen, but through real, tangible interaction.

For me, the future of the brand is about balance — honoring the efficiency of digital commerce while maintaining the traditional business mindset that values human connection and personal service. I believe the strongest brands are those that successfully integrate both worlds: a strong online presence and a physical retail experience that builds trust, loyalty, and community. Expanding retail in the U.S. is not just a growth strategy — it’s a way to deepen the relationship between YazzBeauty and the women we serve.
