Check Out Meghan Camilletti’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan Camilletti.

Meghan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Twelve years ago, I began with a simple, soulful question: What if children and families didn’t have to choose between a high-quality dance education and a balanced, joyful life? I envisioned a studio offering world-class training without burnout — a space where teachers uplift, peers support, and every dancer feels seen, safe, and celebrated — and from here my studio, MC Dance Miami was born.

“I wanted to create a studio where children could grow as dancers without sacrificing balance, joy, or connection in their childhood.”

What started as a small after-school dance class has grown into a thriving, full-spectrum dance program. Today, we offer ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, hip-hop, and acro for ages 3–18, along with stage performances, theater and music programs, summer camps, intensives, preschool classes, and competition teams. Our presence now spans private schools across South Miami, Coral Gables, and Pinecrest, all grounded in joy, growth, and balance.

My vision is to cultivate a space where dancers thrive technically, emotionally, and spiritually — becoming confident, independent, and empowered to share their unique voices on stage and in the world.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey as a dancer, choreographer, teacher, and studio owner has been a true mission from the heart — guided by intuition, intention, and soulful purpose. Building a boutique studio from the ground up, in an industry that often celebrates size and spectacle over care and connection, required deep trust. The journey is ever inspiring.

Without a dedicated studio space of our own, we’ve been deeply grateful to the generosity of the schools and local businesses that open their doors to us, providing the spaces where our programs come to life. By partnering with schools whose mission aligns with ours, I am reminded daily that it’s the passion, purpose, and authenticity behind our work that truly shapes the experience.

“Building something heart-centered has been a journey guided by intention, artistry, and authentic connection.”

Navigating the dance world in Miami and building programs from scratch wasn’t always easy, but every challenge became a teacher — refining my purpose, strengthening my leadership, and deepening my commitment to a studio culture rooted in wellness, trust, and encouragement. Each step has been an invitation to serve, to heal, and to elevate the next generation of our youth through movement and mindful connection.

Walking the path of building a dance studio in Miami has been a living practice — full of lessons, surrender, and growth. One of my greatest challenges has been staying rooted in my truth, resisting the urge to be everything for everyone, and instead honoring the values that shape this sacred space. While some families wander toward the sparkle of studios down the street, many return with open hearts, saying this feels like home — the place where their spirit and artistry are truly seen. Here, over time, our dancers don’t just dance together…they become family.

Another tender challenge is holding space for each dancer’s unique journey through childhood and adolescence — meeting them where they are, season by season, breath by breath — and guiding them in a way that keeps their love for movement alive as they grow, change, and awaken to their own expression.

Every obstacle has become a teacher, deepening my devotion to a studio culture rooted in wellness, trust, compassion, and conscious connection — a place where we don’t just train dancers, but nurture whole beings through movement.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I was raised in the world of dance — surrounded by studios, teachers, and strict ballet tradition — often within environments that felt cold, rigid, and emotionally disconnected. As a young dancer, I longed for deeper support in self-expression and a more soulful connection between movement and art. Rooted in classical ballet training, this old-school approach shaped me — but it also planted a powerful question in my heart:

What if ballet could be honored and respected while still being taught with compassion, creativity, and care? What if children were met exactly where they are — emotionally, physically, and energetically?

From this vision, MC Dance Miami was created.

“My goal is to raise dancers who are not just technically skilled, but confident, independent thinkers and soulful artists.”

I am a dancer, instructor, choreographer, studio owner, and wellness mentor whose life has been devoted to movement, healing, and self-expression. I trained with some of the most respected institutions in the world and began my professional career performing with Walt Disney World, where I learned the highest standards of professionalism, artistry, and performance.

In 2009, I opened Stretch Dance Studio in Chicago and partnered with Chicago Schools as After-School Dance Director, creating enrichment programs and outreach initiatives for children in the arts. In 2014, I founded MC Dance Miami as a boutique sanctuary for young artists — a space where ballet is honored but taught with compassion, creativity, and care. Today, I serve private schools across Coral Gables, Pinecrest, and Palmetto Bay with a comprehensive dance curriculum that nurtures artistry, confidence, and overall well-being.

I have been honored with numerous awards recognizing the artistry and vision of my choreography, and more recently, I have expanded my work to mentor adolescents and young adults as a Wellness and Mindset Life Coach — guiding them toward a deeper sense of self-awareness, emotional resilience, and confident leadership while nurturing their growth as artists and whole beings.

What sets me and my dance studio apart is the ability to merge elite technical training with mindful movement, holistic wellness, and soulful self-expression. My organic, free-flowing teaching style radiates positive energy, gently inviting students beyond their comfort zones while welcoming them home to themselves.

At MC Dance Miami, movement becomes a language of joy, connection, and self-discovery. My goal is to raise dancers who are not only technically exceptional, but also confident, independent thinkers and soulful artists — who move through life with a lifelong connection to dance and a lasting love for the arts.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I love connecting with local artists and dancers to collaborate on performances, choreography projects, workshops, retreats, school programs, and wellness-infused movement experiences. I’m always open to new partnerships and creative projects that value artistry, education, and emotional well-being.

The best way to support our work is through word-of-mouth in the community. It’s always an honor to be invited to lead wellness and dance workshops, community events, and school enrichment programs, sharing our mission with families seeking a mindful, human-centered approach to dance. Whether through collaboration, sponsorship, or creative exchange, I’m passionate about co-creating meaningful experiences that celebrate movement, expression, and artistry—nurturing both the artist and the community in a heartfelt, mindful way.
