Hidden Gems: Meet Arian Barboza of AB Nutrición

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arian Barboza.

Hi Arian, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My professional background is rooted in medicine, which gave me a strong foundation in physiology, biochemistry, and metabolic health. However, over time I realized that the real challenge wasn’t a lack of information, it was how overwhelming and contradictory that information had become, especially within the U.S. food system.

After moving to the United States, I was confronted with an entirely different food landscape, endless options, aggressive marketing, ultra processed products labeled as “healthy,” and constant shifts in nutrition trends. For the average consumer, navigating this environment is not intuitive, even for people who genuinely want to make better choices.

That gap is where AB Nutrición was born.

I began by doing what I knew best, analyzing ingredients, understanding sourcing, questioning labels, and translating scientific data into practical guidance. Through social media, I started helping people identify truly better products, understand what actually matters on a label, and make informed decisions without fear based messaging or extreme rules.

What started as educational content evolved into a trusted platform for product curation, personalized nutrition guidance, and digital resources. Today, AB Nutrición helps individuals cut through the noise of the U.S. food industry, not by promoting perfection, but by offering clarity, context, and realistic alternatives.

My approach is grounded in science, critical thinking, and transparency. Rather than demonizing foods or chasing trends, I focus on empowering people to understand the system they’re eating from and make choices that support long term health in a sustainable way.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the main challenges along my journey has been accepting that nutrition is rarely black and white. Context matters, individual biology matters, and even the same product can have a different impact depending on how, when, and why it is used. Communicating that nuance in a digital space that often rewards extremes has been an ongoing challenge.

As my audience grew, so did the responsibility that came with it. Knowing that people trust my judgment when choosing products or making nutrition decisions means I cannot rely on static knowledge or one time research. I am constantly studying, revisiting the science, and reevaluating both new products and ones I have previously discussed, because formulations change and evidence evolves.

Another challenge has been maintaining intellectual honesty in an industry that often prefers certainty over complexity. There are moments when the most accurate answer is “it depends,” and standing by that requires confidence, discipline, and a strong commitment to education rather than popularity.

These challenges have shaped the way I work today. They have reinforced the importance of continuous learning, critical thinking, and transparency, and they have pushed me to prioritize long term trust over short term validation. That mindset is now a core part of how I approach nutrition and how I show up for my community every day.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about AB Nutrición?
AB Nutrición is an educational platform focused on helping people navigate the U.S. food system with clarity and context. The brand specializes in ingredient analysis, product evaluation, and science driven nutrition education, translating complex information into practical, everyday decisions.

What sets AB Nutrición apart is its emphasis on nuance. Nutrition is not approached as black and white, every recommendation is contextualized based on sourcing, formulation, and real world use.

AB Nutrición is recognized for its transparent approach to label reading and continuous review of food and nutrition products, prioritizing long term health, informed choice, and trust over trends or extremes.

How do you think about luck?
Luck has played a nuanced role in my journey. What began as a personal challenge, experiencing allergies and recurring headaches, pushed me to look beyond standard medical reports and search for deeper root causes. That process led me to closely examine food quality, ingredients, and environmental factors, first to help my family, and eventually myself.

What could be seen as bad luck became a catalyst. As I began finding answers, I felt a responsibility to turn that knowledge into something larger, sharing what I was learning so others wouldn’t have to navigate the same confusion alone.

From there, AB Nutrición grew not from chance, but from purpose. Preparation, continuous learning, and intention allowed that initial need to evolve into a platform focused on education, clarity, and long term impact.
