Life & Work with Jerome Abraham of Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerome Abraham.

Hi jerome, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began in the South of France, growing up in the inspiring surroundings of Saint-Paul-de-Vence. I discovered my passion for cuisine early, stepping into my first kitchen at age 14. That spark led me to the Lycée Hôtelier Paul Augier in Nice, where I built my foundation in classical French techniques. At just 25 years old, I achieved a major milestone by taking on my first position as Executive Chef at Restaurant Cote Mougins in Mougins, near Cannes, where I led the kitchen for five years.

For over 25 years, my career has been a global adventure. I honed my skills in Michelin-starred kitchens and luxury establishments across France, Switzerland, Italy, and London, learning from mentors like Chef Olivier Brulard. In 2011, I moved to Hong Kong, where I spent the next 10 years as a Chef and Business Partner of the Pastis Group, helping to shape the city’s vibrant French dining scene.

These travels allowed me to evolve my style, blending my French roots with vibrant Mediterranean and Asian fusion influences. Eventually, love and a passion for the vibrant lifestyle brought me to Miami. In December 2022, I launched Lavish Gastronomy Privé to bring a unique, high-end private dining experience to the city. Today, I focus on crafting bespoke culinary moments—from intimate dinners to grand weddings—using the finest seasonal ingredients. For me, it is about more than just food; it is about creating memories and bringing joy to my clients as their personal “Happiness Chef.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely been a journey of dedication. I wouldn’t say it was “hard,” but it required immense focus, especially during my first ten years. Learning the craft under Michelin-starred chefs means embracing long hours and high-pressure environments, but that intensity is what builds a true professional.

The stress of the kitchen melts away the moment I see a client is happy—that is where I find my own happiness. I feel incredibly lucky that my career has taken me around the world. Traveling is the ultimate education; it has allowed me to immerse myself in different cultures and cuisines, which is the best way to truly understand the world. Along the way, I’ve met so many wonderful people who started as colleagues or clients and became lifelong friends. To me, those relationships and the joy of the guests are what make the journey worthwhile.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Private Executive Chef and the founder of Lavish Gastronomy Privé. I specialize in creating high-end, bespoke dining experiences—everything from intimate home dinners and luxury yacht charters to big weddings. My style is a mix of my classical French roots and the global flavors I picked up during a decade in Hong Kong.

What I’m most proud of isn’t just the food, but making every event truly special for my guests. There’s no better feeling than when a client calls me back or trusts me enough to refer me to their friends. To me, it’s all about that human connection—I’m not just there to cook; I’m there to make sure everyone feels like family and leaves with a great memory.
