Today we’d like to introduce you to Emely V. Cuadrado.
Raised in Texas, Emely moved to South Florida with one thing in mind to create her own empire from the ground up.
Upon graduation from Florida Atlantic University, Emely realized her true entrepreneurial and creative spirit when opening her first business, Esella a creative staffing company.
Esella was brought to life after numerous debunked events she witness through her now competitors.
All too many were over pricing customers and short handing the staff quality based on merely beauty appeal vs the actual marketing experience or proper training on the brand hired to represent and using average ways to promote a product without an increase of sales.
She was about to change that.
From a one “woman” team in 2009 the company now employs over 300 independently contracted promotional specialists nationwide. Esella since then has been featured on TRUTV, Telemundo, CNBC ‘s Billion Dollar Buyer, the Latin Billboard Awards, and has represented an extensive portfolio of brands nationwide.
With the use of rare unique elements to brand their clients… Esella Staffing is making quite the lasting impression nationwide.
Esella pays the success forward through their social responsibility program “Esella Cares” which gives back to the community through not for profit staffing efforts and proud sponsor for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Make-A-Wish, Deliver a Dream and Glam-A-THON.
2017 marks Esella’s 7th year and the launch of her 2nd business EverChange, a resale e-commerce clothing store that will empower women to exchange for change is set to open early Fall.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Opening a company from the ground up in unfamiliar territory was a learning experience to say the least, in the beginning it was difficult to find the right team who shared the same vision and also the right client caliber that we wanted to represent.
When all too many competitors having been hiring beauty vs brains for decades, you find yourself with many stunning applicants who were underqualified who lacked education, experience, or motivation, it took time to hand pick who fit best with our culture and value. We wanted all spectrums of looks, height, ethnicity with the knowledge of branding … as every brand we represent has various demographic needs, who is to say what beauty truly is???
We couldn’t be happier with the results.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Esella Staffing story. Tell us more about the business.
Esella is a creative staffing company.
We plan the execution of the promotional campaign, staff the right marketing specialist based on brand demographics we are reaching, and ultimately increase sales by branding and person to person advertising.
Our mission is to make a lasting impression to brand your product/company.
We used creative elements from full costuming, promotional booth setups, unique rare elements to make people stop in their tracks.
I am the Founder and Operations Director of Esella Staffing.
Duties: Assist our team in the consultation and implementation of promotional event activations, assist in the pre-selected candidates for each brand based on the needs of the client, and run the day to day operations.
Being the Founder I pride in always having open communication with our entire team.
Promotional specialists know they can call me shoot me a text whenever.
I am proud of creating a company open to all demographics of men and women.
Many promotional marketing company’s or modeling agencies have this conception that a specific height or look is what sells. It isn’t. Being able to change the norm and open the door to those who make the difference in a successful marketing campaign is incredible.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Bad experience and doubt from others.
Working in the trenches so to speak, from the promotional marketing world, modeling and TV world I saw the grim side of the industry and what needed to change. I am able to sympathize with my employees because I have worked and been where they are.
I still remember growing up being told I would never be a success, I wasn’t pretty or tall enough… and the shock of those same people when I won Miss Texas, which opened the door to many opportunities.
I was also told opening a promotional staffing company would be a waste of time, due to the competition and my age it would never get off the ground.
