My path into the AV industry started in downtown Orlando as a DJ, where I regularly handled live sound systems between sets. A college friend recognized that skill set and encouraged me to move into corporate AV. Once he mentioned it, it was a wrap.
I immersed myself in the industry by working with multiple labor companies, using every job as an opportunity to learn and build relationships. Early on, I realized that my network is my net worth, so I began methodically organizing the people I met into a database, a system that would eventually become the backbone of my business.
In 2017, a production company I was working with faced a same-day staffing crisis requiring more than 30 crew members on short notice. This was where preparation met opportunity. I leveraged my network and had the crew on site within hours. That moment validated the model.
Shortly after, I formalized the operation and launched Prestige Labor Solutions. Today, we are a nationwide A/V labor provider with four offices, having staffed over 8,000 technicians and supported more than 400 events annually.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was far from a smooth road, especially in the early stages. Building consistency, scale, and reliable operations across multiple markets came with significant challenges. Those obstacles became our greatest teachers.
Over time, we refined our systems, streamlined operations, and focused relentlessly on quality and client satisfaction. Today, Prestige Labor Solutions is a trusted name in AV staffing, supporting events of all sizes, including some of the largest productions in the United States.
