Hidden Gems: Meet Adrian English of A&G Construction Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian English.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I entered the real estate world ten years ago with a clear end goal: I didn’t just want to sell homes, I wanted to own, build, and develop them. I began my career as a realtor in South Florida, using that first year to deeply understand the market from the inside out. Before the year was over, I took my first real leap of faith and asked my parents for a loan to purchase my first fix-and-flip property. I renovated and sold that home on my own, and it completely changed the trajectory of my career.

When it came time to purchase my second investment, I ran into a childhood friend who was also pursuing the same property. Instead of competing, we decided to partner up. That collaboration led to our first joint flip and ultimately the launch of our real estate investment company. As we scaled, taking on a higher volume of fix-and-flip projects each year, I quickly realized that construction was the backbone of both profitability and quality. I earned my general contractor’s license so we could bring construction fully in-house, control costs, and elevate the level of craftsmanship in every project.

Our renovations began to stand out, particularly in higher-end neighborhoods throughout South Florida, and homeowners started reaching out for custom projects of their own. As demand grew beyond what I could manage alone, I brought my father on board to help oversee construction operations. This allowed us to continue managing our own investment properties while expanding into client-focused, high-end renovations without compromising quality.

Today, we remain deeply involved in fix-and-flip projects, primarily in South Florida’s higher-end neighborhoods, while also focusing on custom renovations and ground-up development. I am a part owner in a new construction development currently underway in Coral Gables, with another new construction project scheduled to break ground in South Miami later this year. The journey hasn’t been without challenges, but it’s been incredibly rewarding. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my two partners and the shared vision that has guided us from day one, to build with intention, quality, and long-term value in mind.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most entrepreneurial journeys, it’s been filled with uncertainty, long hours, and moments where we had to learn the hard way. Early on, capital was a constant challenge, every deal required careful risk assessment, personal guarantees, and a lot of trust in our own vision. As we scaled, managing cash flow across multiple projects at once became a learning curve, especially in a market where timelines and costs can shift quickly.

On the construction side, bringing everything in-house came with its own set of challenges. Earning my general contractor’s license was just the first step; building reliable systems, assembling the right team, and maintaining quality while increasing volume required constant refinement. There were projects that tested us, unexpected conditions, permitting delays, labor shortages, and rising material costs, but each obstacle forced us to improve our processes and decision-making.

Balancing growth while protecting our reputation was another challenge. As demand increased, we had to be intentional about the projects we took on, making sure we didn’t stretch ourselves too thin. Having my father join the company helped create structure and accountability, allowing us to scale responsibly without losing the hands-on approach that defines our work.

Looking back, those challenges shaped who we are today. They forced us to think long-term, build smarter, and stay disciplined. The road hasn’t been easy, but every setback played a role in getting us to where we are now.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our business operates at the intersection of real estate investment, construction, and development. We specialize in high-end residential renovations, ground-up new construction, and strategic fix-and-flip projects throughout South Florida, with a strong focus on higher-end neighborhoods. What makes our model unique is that we are investors, builders, and operators, not just contractors executing someone else’s vision.

Because we actively invest in and develop our own properties, every decision we make is rooted in real-world experience. We understand budgets, timelines, resale value, and long-term durability on a different level. That perspective allows us to design and build with intention, balancing aesthetics with performance and market relevance. We bring construction fully in-house, which gives us greater control over quality, costs, and execution from start to finish.

We’re known for our attention to detail, clean and timeless design, and the ability to deliver high-quality finishes while maintaining efficiency. Whether it’s a custom renovation, a new construction home, or a value-add investment property, our goal is always the same: to elevate the property while protecting the integrity of the investment.

Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is the reputation we’ve built organically. Our work speaks for itself, and much of our growth has come through referrals and repeat clients who trust us with their homes and their investments. We’ve been intentional about scaling at a pace that allows us to remain hands-on, selective with our projects, and deeply involved in every phase of construction.

What I want readers to know is that we don’t chase volume. We focus on quality, accountability, and long-term value. Every project is approached as if it were our own investment, because in many cases, it is. That mindset is what truly sets us apart.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is building things the right way, both in business and in life. That means integrity in how we operate, pride in the work we put out, and staying accountable to the people who trust us with their homes and their investments. In real estate and construction, your reputation is everything, and I’ve always believed that doing things properly, even when it takes more time or effort, pays off in the long run.

I also value relationships deeply. The partnerships I’ve built, both in business and within my family, are the foundation of everything we’ve grown. Having my partners and my father involved isn’t just about operations; it’s about trust, shared values, and building something that lasts beyond any single project.

At the end of the day, I’m motivated by long-term impact. I want to create work I’m proud of, build a brand that stands for quality and reliability, and leave behind something meaningful, homes, communities, and a company that reflects the standards I live by. That’s what drives every decision I make.
