Conversations with Jakub Szylak

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jakub Szylak.

Hi Jakub, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started Signature Strength after stepping away from the corporate fitness world about eight months ago. Prior to that, I spent nearly a decade coaching across high-performance environments, working with professional athletes, business owners, executives, and entrepreneurs. That experience shaped how I approach coaching today—focused on long-term performance, adaptability, and real-world sustainability rather than short-term fixes.

Today, Signature Strength operates primarily out of the Coral Gables / Coconut Grove area, delivering highly personalized coaching both in person and remotely. The goal has always been to raise the standard of what strength and conditioning looks like for busy, driven individuals. If the timing and alignment are right, the next chapter is opening our own facility in 2026–2027 and continuing to scale the service without compromising quality.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been a smooth road—and that’s been part of the process. Twists, turns, and bumps are not only common but necessary when building something with long-term intention. One of the bigger challenges has been building a trusted network of healthcare professionals. Finding practitioners who align with our values and approach takes time, but it’s non-negotiable for the level of care we aim to provide.

On the operational side, there’s been a steep learning curve. Adopting and testing new software for accounting, bookkeeping, programming, and AI-driven tools has required patience and iteration. That said, embracing these systems is essential to staying ahead and building a business that’s scalable, efficient, and future-proof.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Signature Strength, we practice what we call performance coaching. That means we don’t just train bodies—we build systems. Our work blends resistance training, lifestyle and performance coaching, and objective data to create sustainable health and fitness for the people we work with. We currently run comprehensive body composition and strength testing, with metabolic testing coming soon to further individualize programming and recovery.

We’re known for helping people become stronger, more durable, and more resilient—physically and mentally. Our clients move with less pain, perform better in their careers and lives, and get a meaningful return on their investment in health. What we’re most proud of is the real change: the confidence built, the energy restored, the consistency created, and yes—the smiles and muscle along the way.

What sets us apart is both what we do and how we do it. We don’t rely on fast talk or buzzwords to manufacture authority. We’re patient. We listen. We execute. Everything we build is grounded in science, long-term thinking, and genuine relationships—not marketing scripts or filler language.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is simple but foundational: time with family and friends, fresh air and sunshine, and being part of a real community. I value breaking a sweat, receiving honest feedback, and—most of all—seeing people succeed through the shared work we put in together. Watching clients grow stronger, more confident, and more capable over time is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
