Hi Ofra, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
At Verdant Lyfe, authenticity is at the core of everything we do. What began as a deep love for plants and the healing connection they provide has grown into a thriving business rooted in care, craftsmanship, and community. We specialize in rare and uncommon plants—from striking Lucky Bamboo collection to one of South Florida’s largest collections of carnivorous plants—making us a trusted destination for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Our plants are sustainably sourced from Florida farms that emphasize organic-focused growing practices, ensuring vibrant, healthy specimens. Each plant is thoughtfully paired with modern ceramic and terracotta planters curated to complement contemporary décor and seasonal trends. Verdant Lyfe is also a leader in innovative plant shipping, using specialized packing and temperature-controlled methods to safely deliver delicate house plants nationwide, even in extreme weather. Beyond plants, we foster connection through hands-on workshops—from terrarium building to preserved moss art—designed to educate, inspire, and bring people together. With personalized, customer-focused service that big-box retailers can’t match, Verdant Lyfe offers a truly elevated plant experience where beauty and care meet at every touchpoint.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We needed to develop special shipping methods to ensure that our plants arrive safely at their destination during hot summer temperatures as well as cold, icy winter conditions.
We also needed to keep our plant stock up to date so that we can always offer fresh plants.
We increased the size of our greenhouse to allow customers to walk in comfortably, as it was much smaller when we started. Since we are the largest suppliers of Carnivorous plants in S. Florida, we wanted everyone to be able to check our selection in our greenhouse comfortably.
We needed to improve and create exciting workshops to attract the public.

I am a business professional with a lifelong passion for building successful companies and helping people along the way.
Since 2020, I have been the CEO of Verdant Lyfe, where I turned my love for plants into a full-time business.
For more than 30 years, I have worked in the beauty and wellness industry, building and operating day spas and gaining experience in cosmetic manufacturing. These projects helped shape my leadership style and strengthened my focus on quality, reliability, and creating great customer experiences—no matter the industry.
I have always enjoyed the process of creating something meaningful, offering excellent products, and seeing customers genuinely enjoy the results. Helping people and watching my businesses make a positive impact is what motivates me every day.
I love new challenges, which is why I chose to start a new venture instead of retiring—transforming a hobby I’ve enjoyed since my teenage years into my main line of work. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue growing Verdant Lyfe, delivering outstanding customer service, and becoming one of the top online houseplant suppliers in the United States.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my best childhood memories is riding my sports bicycle at full speed through the streets of my hometown. That bicycle carried me everywhere—to dance lessons, to friends’ houses, to afternoon classes—and each ride filled me with a sense of freedom and happiness. As I raced along the roads, I felt independent, safe, and full of life.
Another cherished memory is going to restaurants with my dad, where he would lovingly order me delicious desserts, making those moments feel special and unforgettable.
