Story & Lesson Highlights with Alexandra Silva Labarr of Xandra Marketing

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Alexandra Silva Labarr. Check out our conversation below.

Alexandra Silva , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My first 90 minutes are all about alignment. I begin with a 3–4 mile walk, followed by a workout to energize my body. From there, I go inward meditating, praying, journaling, and setting clear intentions for the day. I treat it like a meeting with myself, making sure I’m mentally, emotionally, and spiritually ready to show up fully and lead with purpose.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Alexandra Silva Labarr is an international keynote speaker, author, and founder & CEO of Xandra Marketing & PR. With over 25 years of experience in marketing, leadership, and community-building, she is known for helping individuals and businesses show up boldly, build meaningful connections, and take action even in the face of fear. As the author of The Power of Networking and Show Up Scared, Alexandra has built a global platform centered on courage, confidence, and authentic leadership, empowering women to step into their next level personally and professionally.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
One of my earliest memories of feeling powerful was realizing, at a very young age, that even though life had dealt me difficult circumstances, I still had a choice in how I showed up. After losing my mother at 13 and navigating life without my parents soon after, I discovered an inner strength I didn’t know I had. That moment, choosing courage over fear and resilience over defeat, became the foundation of everything I do today.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
You are not broken, and you are not behind. Everything you are walking through is shaping the woman you are becoming. Trust yourself, you are stronger than you realize, and one day, your story will help others find their own strength.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I believe that if we can teach young people, especially teens, that fear is not a stop sign but a signal to move forward with support and self-trust, we can change the trajectory of their lives. I’m deeply committed to this work, no matter how long it takes, which is why my next book, Show Up Scared: The Teen Edition, is set to be released in the first quarter of 2026. Helping the next generation learn how to show up scared isn’t just a book; it’s a legacy.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand deeply that fear never goes away—it evolves. Waiting to feel ready only delays growth. The real transformation happens when you learn how to move forward while fear is present, with self-trust, support, and consistent action.
