Heather Graves shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Heather , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
This past year at my annual “Pulp Paradise 2025: A Tropical Surf Music Event” which is an event that I host in Ft.Myers, FL at Redbones Bar & Grill, had a ton of super funny and memorable moments. One of the funniest moments of the day, by far, has to be the wardrobe malfunction that I experienced during DJ Sean’s “Marilyn Monroe Posing Contest”. The only reason that I even entered the contest, with zero intention of winning, was to go first and give my friends the confidence to follow and participate. The rules of the contest was to stand in front of the blowing fan set on the ground in front of the stage, give your best Marilyn Monroe inspired pose, and let the crowd cheer to pick a winner. Since I was the first to go up, nobody had yet tested out the intensity of the fan. I walked up with confidence, and did exactly what I set out to do. As soon as I felt that air hit the back of my ankles I threw both my hands straight up into the air, and was prepared to let the fan blow my skirt around a bit, and smile. I did not realize that the fan would give such a strong blow, that it would blow my skirt ALL THE WAY UP, almost right over my head. Everyone in the audience saw everything. My whole butt was out. Thong underwear fully exposed. It all happened so fast. As you can see in the photo I provided, I was shocked. My husband, Cory Graves, just happened to be standing right by me, and he threw his arms around my skirt, pulled it down as fast as he could and drug me off to the side of the stage. Me, my husband, DJ Sean, and the rest of the audience had a huge laugh and we decided to turn the fan down. The rest of the contestants participated, and there were other funny moments that happened during that same contest, but nobody could deny how funny and surprising my moment was. The audience cheered and voted me as the clear winner of the contest, and it is a moment I will remember for the rest of my life.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Heather Graves, a published pinup model, co-owner of “Into The Graves Productions”, creator of “Pulp Paradise: A Tropical Surf Music Event”, manager of the band “The Patina Turners”, and a cosmetologist. I am happily married to musician Cory Graves, and I live in Southwest Florida. I am currently working on a lot of different projects with the band, such as booking gigs for 2026, and a 12″ record being released called “Surf It Up Raw”.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I have always been a lover of music, my entire life. I always wanted to be around live entertainment. I was totally fine with being someone working in the backround on production as long as I could be involved in some way. I always knew I would marry a musician too. If my younger self could look into the future and see my life now, I think she would be satisfied with what she saw.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I’m pretty sure that I have ADHD (I have had to self diagnose myself because my parents didn’t really take me or my brother to the doctor for things like this), so I don’t really like to look at it as “giving up”. I like to look at it as “loosing interest quickly and moving on to something different”. I am also an entrepreneur, and a believer in the concept of “if he can do it, I certainly can do it too, if I try”. So yes, I do jump around and are involved in a lot of different projects, but all those projects are just open doors I can revisit whenever I feel like it.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Right now, The project that I am committed to, no matter how long it takes, is the band that I manage called “The Patina Turners”. They are so extremely talented, and I am one of their biggest fans. They are trio of guitar, stand up bass, and drums that plays original Surf and Rockabilly music. They are an instrumental only band which means there is no singing, but they are full of energy. You can’t help but want to get up and dance, no matter your age. They are the most talented musicians that I know. We keep climbing higher and higher as the years turn and I am excited to see what adventures I get to go on with the band this year in 2026. I am at every show selling their merchandise. They have a new 12″ record being released near the end of February 2026 called “Surf It Up Raw”
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
10 years is over in a blink of an eye. All I want to really do in my life is travel and see as much of the world with my husband as we can. If I knew it was all going to be over in 10 years, you wouldn’t see me putting on events anymore, or promoting musicians and artists I am interested in. I would go into full blown travel mode. Work, earn enough for a trip and monthly expenses, take the trip, come back, repeat. That would be my life.
