Andrea Caprio shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Andrea , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, it’s the simple, grounding moments. Long walks by the sea here in Sanremo with my dog, Gatsby, have been incredibly nourishing for me. There’s something about being near the water that instantly brings me back into my body and out of my head. I also really cherish slow mornings, good coffee, meditation, and letting the day unfold without rushing. Those moments remind me that joy doesn’t have to be earned; it can be experienced in the ordinary.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Andrea Caprio, a Master Business Coach and Transformational Nutrition Coach, and the creator of the Food Freedom Formula. For the past eight years, I’ve helped women especially busy break free from emotional eating, cravings, and self-sabotage without restrictive diets or overhauling their lives.
What makes my work different is that I don’t just focus on food. I focus on behavior, identity, and self-trust. Food struggles are rarely about food. They’re about how we cope, how we relate to ourselves, and how safe we feel slowing down.
I also work with coaches and entrepreneurs to grow sustainable, six-figure businesses through collaborations rather than burnout-heavy marketing. Everything I do is rooted in sustainability for the body, the nervous system, and life as a whole.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
One defining moment was realizing that I could do “everything right” on the outside and still feel disconnected on the inside. I had the discipline, the knowledge, the success. Yet I noticed how often I was pushing through instead of listening. That moment shifted how I see healing and success. It’s not about more control or more effort. It’s about learning to respond to yourself with compassion instead of pressure. That realization completely changed how I coach and how I live.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes; more than once. Especially in the early stages of my business, when things didn’t move as fast as I expected and self-doubt was loud. There were moments when it felt easier to quit than to keep trusting the process. What stopped me was remembering why I started. Not to build something flashy, but to help people feel free in their own bodies and lives. I didn’t need certainty; I needed commitment. That made all the difference.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
One truth I live by is that your body is not the problem; it’s the messenger.
Another is that consistency matters more than motivation, always. And maybe the biggest one: you don’t need to fix yourself to be worthy of care, success, or rest. When you start from that place, everything changes, how you eat, how you work, how you relate to others.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes! And I think that’s where the most meaningful work happens. When your effort is rooted in integrity rather than validation, it becomes deeply freeing. Praise is wonderful, but purpose is sustaining. I give my best because it aligns with who I want to be, not because I need to be seen doing it. And ironically, that’s often when the impact becomes the greatest.
