Story & Lesson Highlights with Silvia Caceres & Carla Ferreyros of West Miramar

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Silvia Caceres & Carla Ferreyros. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Silvia & Carla, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
We wake up, go to gym, have breakfast and start to work

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
As Silvia’s daughter, I grew up watching my parents build and run successful businesses. From a young age, I saw firsthand what hard work, resilience, and dedication could create. Entrepreneurship was not just something they talked about, it was the way they lived.

From my perspective as a mother, the foundation of this company goes back even further. After immigrating from Cuba in 1960, my parents worked relentlessly to build a better life. Their determination and work ethic shaped everything I do and show my kids today. Those same values, hard work, integrity, and excellence, were passed down and now live at the core of our business.

Together, as mother and daughter, we combine experience, passion, and a shared vision to deliver beautifully designed window treatments backed by trust, craftsmanship, and family values.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Carla:
One thing I would say to my younger self is to listen to your inner voice more. Stay focused on your education and don’t let the noise around you distract you. Your future is worth everything, and it truly begins at a young age. When strong values are instilled early, they become the foundation for everything you build later in life.

Silvia:
I would tell my younger self to never give up on your dreams, and to study, study, study. Knowledge is power, and education opens doors that no one can ever take away from you.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
From my Mother and I: Family is everything, We are a very close family we would do anything for one another. I would say, we are a little too close haha.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
Yes, we actually sing after we leave a client’s home when a project goes well, and even when it doesn’t go exactly as planned we believe in bringing light, laughter, and positivity into everything we do. It’s simply who we are.
