Kerri Paizzi shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Kerri, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Who are you learning from right now?
I learn from my peers, my friends, and my son everyday. I strongly believe that everyone can bring value and insight into others’ lives. It’s very important to be open to it and actually listen when others are speaking. You may not always agree, but I guarantee you’ll learn something.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Kerri Paizzi, a Florida-based entrepreneur and marketing professional best known as the founder of Monarch Marketing and Design and the owner of Flavor South Florida, a month-long dining event that highlights restaurants across multiple counties. I grew up on Long Island and built my career through hands-on experience in the restaurant industry before moving to South Florida, where I combined my passion for food, community, and marketing. Over the years, I’ve expanded Flavor South Florida into one of the largest restaurant-month events in the country by geographic reach, while also helping small businesses grow through strategic branding and digital marketing.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Trust will break the bond every time. It’s so important to not only stand by your words, but your actions as well. It takes a lot to build a bond and a relationship and could take one thing to break that. It can take years to rebuild, that why honesty and communication are the key to trust, forming and building bonds.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Just do what makes you happy. Don’t try so hard to please others and stay true to yourself no matter what. I would also say that things that seem out of reach usually aren’t as far as you think. The worst that can happen if you try, is you fall. And if you fall, you will get back up again and hopefully learn from it.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
100% I’m pretty much a – what you see is what you get person. I don’t easily get intimidated by people or situations so it’s easy for me to just be me and be authentic.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
When I shut my phone off. I love spending time with my son, traveling, or just watching mindless reruns on TV. It’s important to be present in the moments that bring you peace and I think our society doesn’t do enough of that – I know I don’t.
