Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashot Aroian.
Ashot, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began this journey in 2017—completely by accident. A friend casually mentioned that he was selling products on Amazon and suggested I give it a try. I had no grand plan, no strategy—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
I decided to start with a product I believed could truly make a difference: fire escape ladders. I designed them myself, sourced manufacturing in China, and shipped the first batch to the United States. Then life moved on, and I didn’t even track the sales.
Weeks later, that same friend called and said, “Let’s check how things are going.” What we discovered surprised us both—every single ladder had sold out. That moment changed everything. It wasn’t just a business opportunity; it was proof that thoughtful design and real-world safety needs could meet at exactly the right time.
From that point forward, I committed fully. I refined the designs, patented the products, and focused on building a brand centered on trust, quality, and safety. Today, our company stands among the largest providers of fire escape ladders and safety accessories in the United States and Europe. Our products consistently rank in the top five across industry reviews and comparison charts.
Most importantly, we know that what we create serves a higher purpose. Every ladder we sell represents a family that is better prepared, a home that is safer, and peace of mind when it matters most. That is what continues to inspire us every day.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey was far from easy. Along the way, we faced many obstacles—especially as Amazon frequently changed its rules and policies. More than once, these changes caused significant setbacks and financial losses for us. But each challenge forced us to adapt, learn, and become stronger. Today, we closely monitor every update and innovation, ensuring that we stay ahead and continue to grow despite the shifting landscape.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about isop?
Our business is built around one core mission: creating safety products that people can truly rely on when it matters most. We specialize in fire escape ladders and related home safety accessories, serving customers across the United States and Europe. Over the years, we have become known for combining practical engineering, thoughtful design, and uncompromising quality.
What truly sets us apart is our attention to detail. Every product we launch is carefully designed from the ground up. We study customer feedback extensively—not only our own reviews, but also feedback left on competing products. We listen closely to what people feel is missing, what frustrates them, and what could be improved. Those insights shape every decision we make, from materials and functionality to packaging and instructions.
Our goal has always been to be the best in our category, not just another option. Innovation is central to our process, and many of the ideas we introduce later become industry standards that others try to replicate. While competitors often copy features, our advantage lies in experience, continuous improvement, and a deep understanding of real customer needs.
Brand-wise, we are most proud of the trust we’ve earned. Our products consistently rank among the top five in industry ratings and comparison charts, which reflects both performance and customer satisfaction. For us, these rankings are not just recognition—they are confirmation that our work helps make homes safer.
What we want readers to know most is that our brand is driven by responsibility. Every product represents a promise: that we have done everything possible to think ahead, test thoroughly, and deliver safety without compromise. That commitment is what defines us and what continues to push us forward.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I’ve had a business mindset for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, I was naturally drawn to ideas of value and opportunity. When I was five years old, I sold glass marbles to kids in my neighborhood and earned my first money. That early experience stayed with me—it sparked a lasting interest in building, selling, and creating something people want.
