Today we’d like to introduce you to Jena Gizerskiy CFD PFCI AFCD.
Hi Jena, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I didn’t come from a traditional floral background. My professional foundation began in my 20s in the luxury world of Christian Dior, where I was immersed in brand storytelling, elevated service, and the importance of creating emotional experiences. That environment shaped how I think about relationships, presentation, and long-term brand value — lessons that would later influence my path in the floral industry.
I entered the floral industry over a decade ago with little formal knowledge of flowers, starting in a sales role at a luxury rose company and learning from the ground up. What began as “just a job” quickly became an education in floriculture, global logistics, and relationship-driven business. By listening closely, staying curious, and showing up consistently, I grew into leadership roles, managing major markets and representing luxury floral brands on a global level.
Today, my work sits at the intersection of sales, marketing, PR, education, and flower design. I continue to pursue professional certifications, participate in design competitions, serve on industry boards, and advocate for mentorship and industry growth. I’m actively opening new channels and helping shape conversations around leadership, creativity, and community within the floral space.
At the heart of everything I do is my most important role: being a mom of the most incredible little girl. Motherhood has grounded me, sharpened my priorities, and given deeper meaning to my work. It influences how I lead and how I measure success. It’s taught me balance, empathy, and the importance of leading with intention. The growth I’ve experienced in the floral industry mirrors my growth as a person — constantly learning, adapting, and striving to build something meaningful, both for my family and for the community I’m proud to be part of.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I entered the floral industry without a traditional background, which meant I constantly had to prove myself, learn quickly, and earn trust in a very relationship-driven business. Early on, there were moments of imposter syndrome — navigating a new industry, new language, and high expectations while trying to find my voice.
Balancing ambition with personal life has also been a challenge, especially as I became a mother. Learning how to grow professionally while protecting time, energy, and presence at home required boundaries I didn’t always have early in my career. There were periods of burnout, self-doubt, and hard lessons around saying no.
At the same time, those struggles became my greatest teachers. They pushed me to lead with empathy, build resilience, and stay grounded in purpose rather than title. Every challenge helped shape how I show up today — more intentional, more confident, and deeply committed to creating space for growth, both for myself and for others.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in brand development, key account growth, and opening meaningful sales channels between growers, wholesalers, designers, and industry partners. At my core, I’m a connector — someone who understands both the business mechanics and the emotional side of floriculture.
I’m known for bringing a luxury mindset into the floral space, shaped by my early experience in high-end fashion and refined through years of working directly with growers and markets. I focus on building long-term partnerships rather than short-term wins, and I’m deeply invested in education, mentorship, and elevating how our industry communicates its value.
What I’m most proud of isn’t a single title or achievement, but the trust I’ve built. I’m proud of helping others grow, whether that’s opening doors, sharing knowledge, or encouraging people to step into roles they didn’t initially see for themselves.
What sets me apart is my ability to bridge worlds — luxury and agriculture, creativity and commerce, leadership and empathy. I lead with intention, curiosity, and consistency, and I believe that when relationships are nurtured thoughtfully, everything else follows.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happy is my family. My circle. My life. The relationships that ground me, challenge me, and remind me why I do what I do. Being a mom and being present bring me the deepest sense of fulfillment.
At its core, happiness for me is a choice rooted in gratitude, connection, and creativity. I believe we create our own happiness. I choose to focus on what goes well instead of dwelling on what goes wrong. That shift in perspective has shaped how I live and lead. It allows me to stay resilient and open to joy — even during busy or challenging seasons.
Creativity plays a huge role in my happiness as well. Anything fashion-related, anything flower-related, anything that involves beauty and expression fuels me. I’m inspired by color, texture, and thoughtful details, and I find joy in the act of creating — whether it’s through my work or everyday life.
