Community Highlights: Meet David Jarmoune of Maison Valentine

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Jarmoune.

Hi David, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey has always been rooted in entrepreneurship, hospitality, and passion for creating meaningful places. Before Maison Valentine, I worked across several businesses and real-estate projects in different countries, experiences that taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of details and human connection.

When my wife and I arrived in Miami, we felt there was space for something different, not just a bakery, but a warm and elegant French “maison,” where people feel welcome, cared for, and part of a community. That is how Maison Valentine was born, from our family story, our values, and our love for authentic French traditional cuisine.

We opened during a challenging period, worked incredibly hard, stayed hands-on, and never compromised on quality or integrity. Today, Maison Valentine is more than a café it’s a place of life, emotion, and connection, where people come not only for pastries, but for the experience and the feeling they leave with.

Our story is still being written, with ambition, passion, and heart.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has never been a smooth road, and honestly it is still challenging every day. Running a business means constantly adapting, staying innovative, and reinventing ourselves with new products, new ideas, and new ways to surprise our customers.

We also had to adjust many of our French traditions to Miami. Flavors, portion sizes, presentation styles, all while protecting our authenticity and identity. Finding that balance was not always easy.

But every challenge helped us grow, stay creative, and continue building Maison Valentine with passion, humility, and heart.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Maison Valentine?
Maison Valentine is a French bakery café and pâtisserie, but above all it is a warm and elegant “maison,” where people come not only to enjoy great food, but to feel welcomed and connected.

We specialize in authentic French pastries, viennoiseries, cakes, and café service, with excellent coffees, matcha, and beverages prepared with care. Beyond pastries, we also offer a selection of traditional French dishes to enjoy on site, such as croque-monsieur, sandwiches, quiches, and crêpes, all made in-house with our French know-how.

What we are most known for is the combination of refined products, a cozy and elegant atmosphere, and a genuine human connection with our guests. Our brand is built on authenticity, craftsmanship, and attention to detail, not on trends, and we are very hands-on and present in everything we do.

What makes me most proud is when guests tell us that Maison Valentine feels like home and reminds them of Europe and family memories. That emotional connection is at the heart of who we are and what we do.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest piece of advice is to never lose yourself along the way. When you start a business, everyone has opinions, everyone gives advice, and it is very easy to drift away from your original vision. But if you change too much, your customers will no longer understand your concept. Stay true to your identity, your values, and the reason you started.

Consistency is also everything. The same quality, the same taste, at any time of the day. That is what builds trust, loyalty, and credibility. It may sound simple, but it requires a lot of work, discipline, and daily involvement.

Pay attention to details. They matter more than we think. And listen to your customers. Learn from feedback, even when it is hard to hear, and do not take criticism personally. It is an opportunity to grow, improve, and strengthen your brand.

Entrepreneurship is a journey that constantly tests you, but if you stay aligned with your vision, act with humility, and care deeply about what you do, the experience becomes meaningful and rewarding
