Today we’d like to introduce you to Derek Kaplan.
Derek, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been serving the community desserts for almost 20 years. I started out baking in my home kitchen when I was 15 years old. Key Lime pie was the first dessert I ever made and over the years I learned to make other pies, cakes, cheesecakes, cookies, ice cream and much more! I was really a Firefighter for over 10 years and I left in order to manage and build my business full time
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth road hahahahahaha that’s too funny. Its never smooth, it gets easier but it’s always a challenge. But hey you gotta put your adult pants on everyday and take care of business.
