Rising Stars: Meet Danielle Brown of Ft lauderdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Brown.

Hi Danielle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have always been both a planner, creative and meticulous by nature. Group trips, I planned them. Family events ,I handled the décor, A simple get together at home I could be extra with a set up in the drop of a dime. None of it ever felt like work. I simply loved putting together and seeing how a thoughtfully curated experience could make people feel seen, connected, and cared for.
My traditional career is in behavioral health. I spent sixteen years working as a therapist with children with autism and developmental disabilities. My academic goal was to become a BCBA(Board Certified Behavior Analyst), but after multiple attempts at the board exam, that path didn’t unfold as I had envisioned. Letting go of that goal was difficult and took years to process, especially while holding significant roles in the field. It challenged me mentally and forced me to reevaluate what success really meant for me.

During the peak covid season, I began a business creating custom items and swag bags for trips and social gatherings, along with décor for small, intimate events. People consistently encouraged me to take it seriously, but I brushed it off at the time. My husband, however, believed deeply in my passion for creating any and everything, and in 2023, he gifted me an LLC for my birthday. That gesture gave me the courage to move forward in the process of fully committing to what I had been doing instinctively for years.
Looking back, I now see that what once felt like failure may have been necessary redirection and part of a greater plan leading me to the season I’m in today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey has certainly had its ups and downs. I’ve faced bouts of self doubt, frustration with slow periods, worry about revenue and sustainability etc. All the uncomfortable feelings an entrepreneur would have felt at one point or another I have struggled with.
There is however truly no growth in comfort. As much as I dislike discomfort, and as much as my Type A personality panics when things get bumpy, I’ve learned so much from the struggles, the bumps, and the bruises along the way. Today, I’m grateful for every challenge, because each one has shaped me and brought me closer to where I am now and for where I am going.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in full event planning, décor services, and event-day management. The goal is always to bring my clients’ visions to life both creatively and flawlessly so they can be fully present and enjoy their day, no matter the size of the event.
My professionalism, attention to detail, strong people skills, and a genuine desire to bring joy to the individuals who trust me with their most meaningful moments is what I would say sets me apart from others. This is more than a job to me, I truly love what I do. By the end of our journey together, clients feel like family, and I often miss connecting once it’s all said and done. That care shows in my ability to balance vision with execution, anticipate needs, and seamlessly manage the many moving parts that come with executing an event.
I’m proud of the growth and opportunities that I have been blessed with in such a short time, and I move forward feeling both hopeful and deeply grateful for what’s ahead. I chose to step away from a higher, more stable income to focus on what I love: creating bespoke experiences. I am most proud of the fact that I took a chance on myself by being intentional, pouring into myself and building out my brand.

What were you like growing up?
I was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, and migrated to the United States at fourteen, planting roots in South Florida. Growing up, I was more reserved and shy, yet still very social, an interesting yet balanced foundation for how I move in life now. I was the one coming home late because I was involved in countless extracurricular and school activities, while also spending weekends in class or studying. I was deeply determined academically, which was both a blessing and a curse in retrospect.
As I matured, I blossomed into a true social butterfly, though I’ve always valued my alone time and personal space. As an only child, solitude has been and continues to be therapeutic for me and allows me to really be still, recharge and reflect. My personality has always been bright and creative and I have always felt called to help, give back, and to advocate for others.
