Roberto Carluzzo of Palm Beach County, Florida on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Roberto Carluzzo shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Roberto , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Yes — without hesitation.
I would hire myself because I bring more than expertise; I bring perspective, discipline, and heart. My journey across countries, industries, and cultures has taught me how to listen deeply, adapt quickly, and lead with intention. I understand that success is built on trust, details, and human connection — not shortcuts. I show up prepared, creative, and fully invested, every time. And because I’ve built businesses, started over, and earned results through resilience, I don’t just guide others forward — I walk the path with them.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Roberto Carluzzo, a REALTOR® based in Palm Beach County, and my work is rooted in one idea: home is a feeling before it’s a place. I grew up in Portofino, Italy, studied in Switzerland, trained in Milan’s theater world, and refined my communication skills in Cambridge, UK. Later, I built and operated an Italian restaurant in Cape Town, South Africa. Each chapter taught me how culture, design, hospitality, and human connection shape the way people experience space.

Today, I bring that global perspective into real estate, blending strategic market expertise with a highly personal approach. My brand is about intention, detail, and storytelling — helping clients find homes that reflect who they are and how they want to live, not just what they want to buy. I’m currently focused on growing a lifestyle-driven real estate platform that connects design, community, and trust — creating experiences that feel elevated, thoughtful, and deeply human.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself is the one with my mother, Palma. She was my muse and my greatest supporter — a volcano of personality, warmth, passion, and strength. A true fighter and the biggest fan of her two children, she taught me how to lead with heart, stand my ground, and show up fully in life. Her belief in me became the foundation of my self-belief, and her spirit continues to guide the way I live, work, and grow.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering, especially through the loss of my mother, taught me truths that success never could. It stripped life down to what actually matters — love, presence, and the fragile urgency of time. In that pain, I learned that strength isn’t loud and courage isn’t glamorous; it’s quiet endurance, showing up when your heart is broken and still choosing to move forward. Her absence taught me how deeply I can feel, how much I can carry, and how love doesn’t end — it transforms. Success celebrates achievement, but suffering revealed my capacity for depth, compassion, and a strength rooted not in winning, but in surviving with grace.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
A cultural value I protect at all costs is human connection rooted in respect and warmth. I believe in slowing down enough to truly see people, honoring relationships, and leading with generosity — values I absorbed growing up Italian, where presence, loyalty, and shared moments matter more than status or speed. In a world that often prioritizes transactions over trust, I fiercely protect the art of connection, dignity, and treating people like family, not numbers.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope they’ll say that I made people feel seen, safe, and inspired — that I lived with heart, courage, and intention. That I built beautiful things, crossed borders without losing my roots, and turned every chapter of my life into connection rather than ego. I hope they remember that I showed up with warmth, kept my word, loved deeply, and helped others feel at home in the world — not just in the spaces I created, but in the way I made them feel.
