Paola Pietri shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Paola, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
For a long time, I thought I was simply wandering. When I decided to leave my successful business at 41 to step onto a yoga mat, it felt like I was stepping into the unknown. But looking back, I realize I wasn’t wandering; I was listening.
I believe we are all walking a path, even when the destination isn’t visible yet. The difference between wandering and walking a path is intention. When I became a certified teacher at 44, I finally understood that my path wasn’t defined by the career I left behind, but by the lives I was called to touch.
Finding that path meant creating a space where everyone—both men and women—could find theirs, too. That is how my YouTube channel and my social media community, yogafter40, were born. These platforms became the “landmarks” on my journey—allowing me to connect organically with a global family who are redefining what it means to age with strength.
Today, as I lead Vibrant Age Yoga, every step is intentional. Whether I am developing my 4EvRStrong supplements or providing real-time coaching through my app, I am focused on helping people move past the mental limitations and “scripts” that keep them wandering in doubt. I even designed my Lotus Mindset Yoga mats with NLP-based affirmations to serve as a physical foundation for this shift—using linguistic anchors to ground the body while we rewire the mind for confidence.
To anyone reading this who feels like they are “wandering” through midlife or a career change: Trust your transition. You aren’t lost; you are evolving. When you align your actions with your true calling, the path reveals itself. Walk it without fear, because your age is not a limit; it is your greatest strength. I am living proof that when you have the confidence to follow your own path, you don’t just find your way—you find your power.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an Integrated Wellness Coach, a mother of four, a grandmother, and a wife. My journey to this point was defined by a massive leap of faith and a total reinvention of my identity. For years, I was a successful business owner; together with my husband, I owned and operated a high-end European kitchen and bath store. Navigating the high-stakes, fast-paced world of entrepreneurship taught me a lot about dedication, but eventually, I reached a crossroads where I realized that professional success didn’t always equal personal fulfillment.
At 41—a time when society often tells us we should be settling into a predictable routine—I stepped onto a yoga mat for the first time. I felt a spark of vitality that I hadn’t realized was missing. Despite the fear of walking away from the thriving business my husband and I had built, I chose to follow that calling. I became a certified teacher at 44, driven by a new mission: to help others find the same strength, clarity, and renewal I discovered.
Today, my work is dedicated to helping men and women over 40 reclaim their vitality. I believe that midlife is not a gradual decline—it is a powerful new beginning. Through my brand, Vibrant Age Yoga, we provide a comprehensive transformation system that bridges the gap between physical movement, mental resilience, and high-quality supplementation.
What makes us unique is our “High-Tech, High-Touch” approach. We utilize AI-powered real-time alignment feedback in our app to keep you safe and effective on the mat, providing the precision of a personal trainer in your pocket. To support the body from the inside out, I developed the 4EvRStrong supplement line. I am incredibly strict about quality; our formulas are manufactured in cGMP-certified facilities in the USA, are non-GMO, contain no fillers, and undergo rigorous third-party testing. We believe in transparent labeling and clinically effective dosages because when you’re investing in your health, you deserve to know exactly what is fueling your cells.
Finally, I’ve integrated the mental side of this journey through Lotus Mindset, my line of specialized yoga mats. These aren’t just surfaces for exercise; they are designed with NLP-based affirmations strategically placed to act as linguistic anchors, helping to rewire your subconscious while you move. By combining modern science with the wisdom of lived experience, I help people prove to themselves that their best years aren’t behind them—they are happening right now.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with God is the foundation of everything I am. It is through my faith in Jesus Christ that I truly learned to believe in myself—not because of any personal merit, but because I recognized that I am a child of God, fearfully and wonderfully made by a Divine Architect. I believe He loves each of us with a depth we are only beginning to understand, and that He created all of us with a specific, unique purpose.
I’ve learned that we aren’t here by accident, nor are we here to just occupy space; we are here to fulfill a beautiful plan that was designed for everyone before we even took our first breath. When we take the time to truly listen to our hearts, we are often hearing the quiet guidance of the One who knows us best. My life changed when I stopped trying to force my own way and started seeking His will. I have found that when your personal purpose aligns with that higher calling, the path becomes remarkably clear. You begin to see your life unfolding as part of a much larger, intentional story, and that is where true confidence and peace are found.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
For a long time, the fear that held me back the most was the fear of “not making it”—the terrifying thought that I might fail publicly after leaving a successful career. We often view fear as a stop sign, but I’ve learned to see it as an invitation.
What truly shifted my perspective was realizing that throughout the Bible, God repeatedly commands us: “Do not fear.” When I understood that this wasn’t just a suggestion, but a divine instruction, it changed everything. I realized that clinging to fear was actually a lack of trust in His plan. Fear usually shows up most intensely right before a breakthrough; it is the shadow cast by your own potential.
I had to realize that failing isn’t the opposite of success—it’s a part of the process of refining your purpose. If I hadn’t obeyed that command to step out despite the fear at 44, I would have missed the opportunity to help thousands of people reclaim their health. I want anyone reading this to understand that your fear of failure is actually proof that your dream is worth pursuing. When you feel that resistance, it isn’t a sign to give up; it’s a sign to lean in, trust the Creator’s plan for your life, and move forward with intention. You were not created to live in the “what if,” you were created to live in the “I am.”
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes. In fact, my entire mission depends on it. For many years, I was truly happy and fulfilled in the business world, but as I grew, my heart began to move in a different direction. When I transitioned into wellness at 44, it wasn’t about hiding who I was before—it was about honoring the new person I was becoming.
What you see on my YouTube channel or in my coaching app is the same woman who is a mother, grandmother, wife, and daughter—someone who navigates the same real, daily challenges we all face. Whether it’s finding the patience to handle a stressful day, managing the balance of family life, or simply dealing with the small frustrations of a busy schedule, I am right there with you. I don’t believe in a “public persona” because being genuine is the only way to find true freedom. If I want to inspire women and men over 40 to believe in themselves, they have to see a version of success that is rooted in truth. When your public life and your private heart are in total alignment, you stop worrying about “performing” and you start simply being who you were meant to be. Showing up as your true self is the most inspiring gift you can give to the world.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Today, I can say with absolute certainty that I am doing what I was born to do. For a long time, I did what was expected—I built a successful business and followed a path that society defines as “achievement.” And while I was happy in that season, there is a distinct difference between being successful at what you were told to do and being fulfilled by what you were born to do.
Stepping into wellness at 44 was my act of choosing my true calling over expectations. When you finally align with your birth-purpose, everything changes. There is a sense of peace and a quiet beauty that settles over your life. It feels pleasant, almost effortless, because you are no longer swimming against the current. People always say, “When you love what you do, you never work a day in your life,” but to be honest, I didn’t truly understand that until I experienced it myself.
Now, even when the days are busy or the challenges are real, it doesn’t feel like “work” in the traditional sense; it feels like a contribution. I was born to help people see their own beauty and strength, and every time I see a woman or man over 40 reclaim their vitality, I am reminded that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. I want to inspire everyone to listen to that quiet voice in their heart that tells them they were made for more. Being yourself is not just a choice; it’s a homecoming.
