Today we’d like to introduce you to Julieta.
Hi Julieta, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
From Argentina to Miami: My Journey as a Stylist and Entrepreneur
I moved to Miami in 2021, after the pandemic, in search of a fresh start. Back in Argentina, I had built a solid career as a hairstylist and owned my own salon for over ten years. But I felt it was time for a deeper change — personally and professionally. I had visited Miami on vacation before and always dreamed of living here. When the opportunity finally came, I arrived without expectations, ready to embrace whatever life had in store.
My first steps in the city were far from the beauty world. I started working as a hostess in a restaurant, not imagining that this would become the bridge back to my passion. My coworkers found out I was a stylist and started asking me to do their hair. That’s when a lightbulb went off — if there was that much interest, why not give it a try?
So, I started looking for work in salons, knocking on doors one by one. I offered to do anything — sweep the floors, make coffee, answer phones — I just wanted to be in a salon again. Eventually, one of those doors opened. I worked there for nine months, and during that time, I started posting my work on a new Instagram account. Little by little, through word of mouth, I began building a loyal and growing clientele.
As demand grew, I realized I needed my own space. One of my clients, who worked at a nail salon, told me they had an empty area set up for hairstyling. I reached out, offered to rent it, and they agreed. That was my first little space in Miami, where I began working alongside my partner — who is also my business partner today.
Soon after, my sister joined us. She’s also a stylist, and we quickly outgrew the space. There were days when clients had to wait on the stairs because we didn’t have enough room. That’s when I made the decision to open our own full salon.
We searched for a long time until we found the perfect location — still in the same neighborhood, so our clients wouldn’t have to travel far. Today, that space is our salon, where we work with a talented and passionate team that I’m incredibly proud of. We’ve been there for almost two years now, and in 2024, we received an incredible honor: we were awarded Best Beauty Salon in Miami Beach. It was a moment of pure joy that validated every step of our journey.
In addition to running the salon, I’m also an ambassador for the haircare brand Robson Peluquero. I’ve traveled to Brazil twice to receive advanced training and lead masterclasses for other professionals. This new chapter in my career is deeply fulfilling — not only do I get to care for my clients, but I also get to inspire and educate fellow stylists around the world.
Looking back, I can hardly believe how far I’ve come in such a short time. I started from zero — no contacts, no guarantees, just the passion to do what I love. And today, I’m living my dream, working alongside my amazing team and building this business with my partner and co-founder. That, to me, is the greatest achievement of all.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
⸻
One of the hardest parts of this journey was having the courage to take that very first step — to say, “I’m going to start my own business, build my own brand, create something that’s mine.” That was the true challenge: stepping out of my comfort zone.
It would have been easier to keep working for someone else in an established salon, where things felt stable and predictable. But choosing to leap into something of my own meant asking myself the tough questions: Will my clients follow me? Will I earn enough to cover my expenses? Will it go well? Because the truth is, when you’re starting a business, you’re taking a leap of faith. There are no guarantees.
But I’ve always believed deeply in the power of the universe — and in the idea that what you truly believe in, you can bring into your reality. I believe in manifestation. And in my case, everything I’ve asked for, everything I’ve envisioned with my heart, has found its way to me.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Miami
One of the things I love most about living in Miami —and one of the main reasons I chose to move here— is the weather. I love the heat, I love the beach, and I love that it always feels like you’re on vacation. That energy is something I truly enjoy year-round. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Honestly, there’s not much I don’t like about this city. If I had to choose one thing, it would be the heavy traffic during rush hour… but aside from that, Miami truly feels like home.
