Meet Krista Witherspoon of Coaching With Kris

Today we’d like to introduce you to Krista Witherspoon.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My path into entrepreneurship wasn’t planned — it was forced. After nearly 18 years in Talent Acquisition and HR, coaching thousands of professionals and helping companies build high-performing teams, I experienced a season that pushed me out of corporate comfort and straight into purpose. A layoff.

And what felt like disruption at the time was actually divine redirection. I call it my “forced entrepreneur” moment — the point where God made it clear that I wasn’t meant to stay behind the scenes supporting corporate strategy and success planning. I was meant to build my own legacy and help others do the same.

I started by offering resume reviews and job-search support, but very quickly my work expanded into helping women get visible, monetize their skills, and rebuild confidence after career transitions or setbacks. What I built came from purpose, not perfection, and from having lived the same experiences my clients walk through.

Today, I run a six-figure coaching brand that blends faith, strategy, and personal transformation. My mission is to help women step into alignment, build economic resilience through purpose-led income, and show up in the world in full authenticity: boldly, visibly, and without apology.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. Like so many professionals, I hit a point of deep burnout. I took a personal sabbatical because I knew I was no longer fulfilled, and I wanted to create impact with people who truly valued my expertise and my voice.

Even then, I resisted my calling. I felt the fear, the imposter syndrome, and the doubt. I went back into corporate and landed what I thought was my dream job at a global tech company — and was laid off. I pivoted into another role, and was laid off again. Two layoffs in less than two years.

That level of instability was a wake-up call. I realized I couldn’t keep living at the mercy of corporate restructuring. I needed more control over my income, my purpose, and my future.

And honestly, it felt like a divine download. God made it very clear that I was meant for more than what corporate could ever offer me. Those challenges were the push I needed to fully step into alignment and build my own dream job doing the work I was called to do.

As you know, we’re big fans of Coaching With Kris. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Coaching With Kris is a faith-led career, purpose, and business coaching brand designed to help high-achieving women get visible, monetize their expertise, and walk boldly in their God-given calling.

I specialize in helping women rebuild confidence after career transitions, create purpose-led income streams, and position themselves as undeniable in their industries. What I’m known for is blending strategic career development with clarity, mindset work, and spiritual alignment — because my clients aren’t just chasing jobs; they’re stepping into assignments.

My signature frameworks — Pretty on Purpose™, Pivot2Purpose™, and Pretty Girl Profit™ — are all built around helping women turn their story, skills, and lived experience into income, impact, and influence. Whether someone is job searching, pivoting industries, or building a personal brand, I teach them how to become visible, aligned, and confident in who they are.

What sets my brand apart is the intersection of faith + strategy. I don’t just coach resumes and revenue. I coach identity, purpose, presence, and divine alignment. My clients come to me because they want more than corporate success; they want clarity, confidence, and guidance for the season they’re stepping into.

I’m most proud that my brand gives women permission to evolve. Many of my clients come to me after layoffs, burnout, reinvention, or feeling overlooked. Watching them become visible, create new income, land aligned opportunities, and step into rooms they once believed were out of reach. And that’s the part I love the most.

Coaching With Kris offers high-touch career coaching, interview preparation, content and executive brand visibility strategy, skills monetization frameworks, and purpose-led brand development. Whether you’re transitioning out of corporate, reinventing yourself, or building something new, my work helps you move with clarity, confidence, and intention.

At its core, my brand exists to remind women that they are not behind. They are becoming. And when they align purpose with strategy, they become absolutely undeniable.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I credit my resilience to my parents. My mother raised us 5 siblings with an entrepreneurial spirit. Through watching her run successful businesses, she taught me not to be afraid of bold moves. That’s why I’ve never hesitated to bet on myself. I moved from Seattle to Los Angeles, and eventually to Fort Lauderdale, rebuilding my community and my identity each time. Those transitions made me adaptable, courageous, and deeply connected to purpose.

My work ethic comes straight from my father, an Army veteran. Discipline, integrity, and commitment were non-negotiables in our home, and those values show up in how I lead, serve, and build my business today.

One of the things I’m most grateful for is my ability to create community wherever I go. People feel safe with me. They trust me with the most challenging, unspoken, and uncomfortable parts of their journey, and I honor that responsibility deeply.

I also have a gift for seeing beyond what people say. I can quickly identify someone’s purpose, the patterns that are holding them back, and the strategy they need to step into who they’re becoming. That blend of discernment, empathy, and strategy is at the heart of my coaching.

Ultimately, every move I’ve made, every reinvention, and every challenge has sharpened my calling: helping people transform their potential into purpose, and purpose into a plan they can believe in.
