I would definitely hire me, as my unbelievable focus and dedication to Dezzy’s Second Chance Animal Rescue is like no other.
It is not only because I am the founder of this non profit it is the enormous amount of homeless animals in need of forever homes.
I start each day @ 4:30 am and devote the entire day caring for to the animals, doing needed chores, running errands, handling office work ,dealing with volunteers, planning ,upcoming events, etc until there is no energy left in my body each and every day..
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Sandra Dezelan,I am the founder of Dezzy’s Second Chance Animal Rescue.We’re nestled in Palm Beach County,Florida, and we also double as the Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control Stray Holding Facility.
Our rescues get to live it up in a resort style facility where they can romp and run totally carefree.
Over the past 22 years, we’ve happily placed over 8,000 animals into loving homes.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Before I entered the world of animal rescue I was an interior designer.
One of my projects was to renovate my husband’s animal hospital.
One Sunday night upon entering the building to my surprise I found a little Dachshund dog left helpless at the front door, tied up with duct tape. and abandoned.
There was a note attached to him that read “duct tape works for everything.”
And in that instant, my heart just knew that little guy needed me. That was the moment that set me on a brand new path into the world of animal rescue.
When did you last change your mind about something important?
Being in rescue now for several years it has taken a toll on my mind & body.
On my last birthday, I said to myself “maybe I shouldn’t carry on with this mission?”
Then I glanced across the room into several of the rescues loving eyes,
at that moment I knew I must go on.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
That is an easy question to answer, they would ALL answer, saving helpless homeless animals.
