We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jen Salk . Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Jen , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
My son, Dylan, graduated from University of Florida and my heart is overflowing with pride. Watching him grow from a little boy into the man he is today has been the greatest gift. Seeing him walk across that stage, knowing all the effort, late nights, and determination it took to get there, was one of those unforgettable moments as a mom. I couldn’t be prouder.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Jen. I’m a mom, a wife, and a dog mom, and I’m also an entrepreneur in the health and beauty space. For the past 8 + years I’ve been helping people improve their skin, their confidence, and their lifestyle by combining award-winning products with a business model that creates more freedom.
Right now, I’m most about Nu Skin because it feels like the perfect intersection of innovation and impact. With the launch of the new Prysm iO, we’re stepping into an entirely new era of personalized wellness — where technology meets self-care in the most empowering way. It’s incredible to be part of a company that continues to evolve while staying true to its mission of helping people look, feel, and live better.
For me, it’s about more than great products: it’s about giving others the tools and confidence to create freedom in their lives. Watching women light up as they see what’s possible for their skin, their health, and their future is what keeps me so passionate about what I do every day.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I’m not happy with this question !!!!
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
For a long time I carried my pain quietly, thinking that was the only way to get through it. Everything shifted when I began to share my story on social media and on podcasts. Speaking it out loud and inviting connection helped me see that my pain didn’t have to weigh me down. It could be the very thing that gave me strength and purpose. None of this would have been possible without therapy. Therapy gave me the space to face my pain, the courage to work through it, and the ability to find my voice. That work allowed me to turn pain into power- power to heal, to grow, and to help others feel less alone.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is the real me. I share authentically… messy house, pajamas on, no makeup, no filters because I believe people connect through honesty, not perfection. I will even share parts of my therapy journey if I think it might help someone else feel less alone. At the same time, there are parts of my healing that I keep private, and that’s important too. What you see is genuine, but it’s not every detail of my life. It’s me as a mom, wife, dog mom, and entrepreneur, showing up as fully myself while also protecting the pieces of me that need to stay just mine.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What light inside you have you been dimming?
The light I’ve been dimming is the part of me that feels deeply, the one that loves big, cares hard, and shows up with her whole heart. For a long time I thought being emotional or sensitive made me too much. Through my own healing work I’ve realized that my sensitivity is actually my superpower. It’s what allows me to connect, empathize, and help others feel seen. I’m learning to stop shrinking that light to make others comfortable and to let it shine even when it feels vulnerable.
