Life & Work with Cloe Galasso of New york

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cloe Galasso.

Hi Cloe, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey began in Buenos Aires with a foundation in design, but I quickly realized my true interest lay in exploring materials and energy holistically. I became a self-taught sculptor, photographer, and ultimately, a painter, driven by the desire to make tangible the complex, unseen forces that shape our lives, what I imagine as a “portrait of energy.” The shift to painting during 2020 proved pivotal, allowing me to merge my physical art with my interest in Chinese Metaphysics. Recognizing the need to expand my practice globally, I made the challenging move to New York City. Since then, I’ve focused on working diligently, which has led to exhibiting my work internationally in places like Milan, London, and New York, including representing Argentina at the Consulate. My career today is built on discipline, constant experimentation, and the continuous effort to connect spiritual concepts with material forms through dedicated work.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. It’s been a road paved with resilience, but that’s precisely what makes the current success meaningful. The struggles weren’t just financial or logistical; they were also deeply personal and tied to the inherent difficulty of pursuing a carrer in the arts, and the art system.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a multidisciplinary artist and my work essentially translates unseen concepts as the flow of Qi from Chinese Metaphysics into something visual and physical. My main focus is oil painting, where I use color and movement to capture the unique energy signature of a person, a place, or a moment. But I also do sculpture and I am working myself into Installation works. The different mediums are just tools; they all work together to achieve the same goal: making those hidden forces that shape our lives visible and tangible for the viewer.

I believe what makes my approach different is the conceptual rigor behind the execution. I’m not just creating pretty \ pieces; but each painting is an investigation.

What I am most proud about is the way I blindly pursued my career since I started. I never knew if it would work out, but i still kept on going. Today I see the process and I am completely grateful of it.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I am not sure, but i am a firmly believer of believing in luck
