Conversations with Gabriela Boaventura

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriela Boaventura.

Hi Gabriela, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always loved food, culture, and storytelling, even before I realized I could turn that passion into content creation. I grew up in Boca Raton, Florida, and food was always how I connected with people and places.

When I moved to Gainesville for university, I found myself always recommending spots and sharing my favorite food finds with friends. People started coming to me for suggestions, and I loved being that go-to person who could point them toward the city’s hidden gems. It felt so rewarding to connect people through food and that was when I realized how much I enjoyed curating experiences and telling those stories.

Everything changed when I moved to Madrid. I instantly fell in love with the city’s food scene, from cozy coffee shops to local markets. That experience opened my eyes to how much people love discovering places through someone else’s perspective.

That’s how @gabisbeli was born … out of a mix of curiosity, storytelling, and appreciation for the way food brings people together. Since then, I’ve been growing my community across TikTok and Instagram, focusing on date-night spots, cafés, and restaurants that combine great flavor & a great atmosphere. That was also where I started collaborating with a variety of places from well-known brands like Akiro Hand Roll Bar to smaller local restaurants that wanted their stories told in a fresh, authentic way.

Now that I’m based in South Florida full-time, it’s been amazing to reconnect with my roots and explore the food scene here again. There’s so much creativity, passion, & flavor in this community, and I’m excited to keep building my brand from here while staying connected to the global food community I discovered abroad.

and let’s just say… there’s something new ‘cooking’ behind the scenes… a project I’ll be announcing in 2026 that’s very close to my heart. Stay tuned ✨

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. There are so many talented micro food creators out there, and it’s not always easy to stand out or prove your credibility when you’re just starting out. At first, reaching out to restaurants was tough as I didn’t have a portfolio or past collaborations to show, so I really had to rely on consistency and genuine passion to get noticed.

What helped me a lot was my background in marketing. I’ve always loved the creative side of strategy , especially the editing videos part. That experience helped me approach content with intention and professionalism. The beginning is always the hardest, but once you land that first partnership and build trust, everything starts to flow much more naturally.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a food & lifestyle content creator (also know as a modern-day food blogger who tells stories through video and social media). My goal with @gabisbeli is to make people feel something when they see my content whether it’s craving a plate of pasta, discovering a cozy café, or planning their next meal out.

I think what sets me apart is my approach. I come from a marketing background, so I’ve learned to think about content a little differently: how to tell a story that actually connects with people. I’m still growing and figuring it all out, but I try to make each video feel true to me: simple, warm, and a little cinematic.

I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built with both my audience and the restaurants I collaborate with. A lot of my collaborations have happened really naturally… I’d visit a place because I genuinely loved it, share my experience, and from there a relationship would start to form. And seeing that grow little by little has been the most rewarding part for me

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I don’t really have a formal mentor.. I like to think life teaches me as I go. Most of what I’ve learned has come through observation, trial and error, and being open to trying new things. A big lesson I’ve learned is to not be afraid to experiment with different types of content. So many people hold back because they’re scared of doing something “wrong” or posting something that doesn’t perform perfectly but that’s exactly how you grow. Every post is a lesson!
