Hi Bonnie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started at my home church in Coral Springs, Florida Heart of Compassion Ministries Inc. where the doors were always open for me to explore my creativity. From organizing the church’s prayer breakfasts to planning the end-of-year gala, I found myself naturally gravitating toward event planning and creative direction. In 2015, I started my little business idea with no blueprint and no real understanding of what entrepreneurship required. All I had was faith, passion, and a vision much bigger than where I was. I began promoting myself, telling anyone who would listen that I offered creative and event services. I heard plenty of “no’s,” but those few people who did give me a chance to showcase my skills ended up giving me the push I needed. Their belief in my work fueled my confidence, and each opportunity helped shape what has now grown into the business I’m proud to run today.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Oh yes!!! There were so Many obstacles especially when I decided to open my first brick and motor. I think that process was literally showed me a lot of lessons that pressure really does create a diamond. I went in with no knowledge of what I was doing just a dream of breaking a generational curse. My biggest downfall became my biggest blessing going through it I couldn’t see it at the time but now I am forever grateful.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories with my dad took place in Antigua, on one of those bright Caribbean afternoons when the whole island felt alive. Anytime there was a big cricket match, our entire family would gather. But the best part was always sitting right next to my dad.
We’d arrive early, long before the first ball was bowled. Dad would make sure we had the perfect spot, where he could see every play and I could see him light up with excitement. The smell of food vendors drifted through the air roasted corn, patties, fresh fruit mixing with the sound of laughter and nonstop chatter. Kids ran around chasing each other with a bat or a ball, pretending they were the next West Indies star.
What stays with me most is the way he’d put his arm around my shoulder whenever the West Indies scored. He celebrated loud, but he always made sure I felt part of the moment. Surrounded by family, music, and the wild energy of the crowd, those cricket days in Antigua were where I felt closest to him. It wasn’t just a game it was joy, pride, heritage, and family all wrapped into one.
Even now, anytime I hear a cricket match on TV or feel a warm island breeze, it takes me right back to those days with my dad the cheers, the laughter, the love, and the sense that in that moment, life was perfect. Rest in peace Daddy
