Today we’d like to introduce you to Artem Kozhevnikov.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up fascinated by the idea of helping people regain their confidence through their smiles. That passion led me to pursue dentistry, where I spent over 20 years developing expertise in implantology, prosthodontics, and digital dentistry.
Throughout my career, I have focused on modern, minimally invasive methods and the integration of technology in treatment – including 3D surgical guides, digital workflows, and AI-assisted planning. Seeing how these innovations can transform patient outcomes continues to inspire me every day.
After building a successful practice and teaching other dentists internationally, my family and I moved to the Fort Lauderdale / Miami area, where I am continuing my professional journey, collaborating with clinics, expanding my expertise, and bringing advanced digital dentistry approaches to a wider community.
My goal has always been the same: to provide high-quality, compassionate care and help people smile with confidence.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey has certainly not been without challenges. After more than two decades of practicing dentistry, moving to the United States meant starting from the very beginning again — not in terms of skill, but in terms of process. Since I am currently focused on completing all required U.S. licensing steps, I’m not yet seeing patients here. That transition has been both humbling and motivating.
Learning new regulations, adapting to a different healthcare system, and rebuilding a professional path from zero requires discipline and vision. Instead of viewing this period as a setback, I chose to treat it as an opportunity: I’ve used this time to expand my expertise in digital dentistry, AI-driven planning, and advanced implantology techniques. This stage has also allowed me to study American standards deeply and strengthen the scientific and technological foundation of my work.
Although not practicing clinically yet, I continue developing skills that contribute to the future of dentistry in the U.S. — focusing on innovation, education, and methodologies that can improve patient outcomes nationwide. Every obstacle has reinforced my belief that meaningful progress takes time, resilience, and commitment to excellence.
Ultimately, these challenges have shaped my mission: to bring advanced, technology-driven dentistry to the U.S. in a way that provides genuine public benefit.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Throughout my 20+ years in dentistry, I have focused on the areas where science, technology, and patient care intersect. My core specialties include implantology, prosthodontics, complex full-mouth rehabilitation, and modern digital dentistry. Over the years, I became known for integrating advanced technologies—such as 3D surgical guides, digital workflows, and AI-supported treatment planning—long before they became widely adopted in the field.
What sets me apart is my commitment to precision and innovation. I continuously study emerging dental technologies and incorporate evidence-based, minimally invasive methods that improve both functional and aesthetic outcomes for patients. Even while completing the U.S. licensing process and not yet treating patients here, I continue investing in advanced training, digital systems, and research so I can bring the highest standard of care to my future patients in the United States.
I am most proud of the countless patients whose lives have changed through restored function, confidence, and health—and of the dedication it took to rebuild my professional path from the ground up in a new country. My mission is to contribute to dentistry in the U.S. by bringing a global perspective, advanced technological approach, and a deep commitment to excellence in patient care.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
One of the things I love most about the Fort Lauderdale / Miami area is the unique combination of energy, diversity, and natural beauty. The city feels alive — full of people from different cultures, new ideas, and constant opportunities to learn and grow. The climate, the ocean, and the overall lifestyle create an atmosphere that supports both professional development and personal well-being.
If there is one thing I like least, it’s probably the traffic and long travel times between different parts of the city — especially for someone who is constantly moving between courses, training programs, and clinics. But even that feels like a small trade-off for everything the area has to offer.
Overall, what stands out to me the most is the sense of possibility here. It’s a place where hard work and dedication truly open doors, and I feel grateful to continue my professional path in such a vibrant and inspiring environment.
