We recently had the chance to connect with Jurate Luckaite & Violeta Lucce and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Jurate & Violeta, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Jurate: I would hire me again and again—without hesitation. My passion for my work is the engine behind everything I create. I never feel like I’m “working,” because what I do is an extension of who I am. Every idea, every design, every detail comes from a place of authentic creativity and purpose. That passion fuels my curiosity, drives me to keep evolving, and inspires me to push beyond what’s been done before. It’s the reason my vision stays alive, and why every challenge becomes an opportunity to build something meaningful, beautiful, and true.
And I would hire us—both my sister and me—because there is no pair in the world quite like us. We are the perfect match: a sister designer duo, one bringing unmatched creative brilliance, and the other carrying that vision across the globe through business, storytelling, and purpose-driven marketing. Together, we are unstoppable—a fusion of talent and passion that elevates everything we touch.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jurate Luckaite, founder of Violeta Lucce, a brand I created together with my sister, Violeta, who is the creative force behind every piece. Violeta is a European master of silk — her craftsmanship and artistic vision bring each collection to life with a rare blend of sophistication, emotion, and beauty.
My role is to bring her extraordinary talent to the world — sharing our story, connecting with women who value individuality and artistry, and building the business behind the brand. Together, we’ve created a label that celebrates creativity, femininity, and timeless elegance, where every piece tells a story of art, passion, and sisterhood, and where every design is created with the intention of making the wearer feel confident, radiant, and unforgettable.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding the brand internationally and introducing new collections that blend artistic detailing with contemporary luxury. For me, Violeta Lucce isn’t just a label — it’s a love letter to creativity, femininity, and the freedom to express who you truly are.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Violeta: My sister Jurate saw me long before I could truly see or believe in myself and my own talent. Even though she’s younger, she has always been my biggest inspiration and my constant encourager. Violeta Lucce exists because Jurate not only had a vision — she wholeheartedly believed in me.
Years ago, I had stopped painting and settled into a regular 9-to-5 job, tucking my creativity away somewhere deep inside. But Jurate never gave up. She convinced me to leave my job and start a business together — to fuse my artistic side with her passion for fashion and her incredible business drive.
At first, I thought it was a crazy idea, but something inside me was curious. Jurate has always been the risk-taker, following her heart fearlessly, while I was the cautious one, questioning every step. Eventually, I found the courage to take the leap — and that’s how our adventure began. Today, we’re building something that feels truly special: a brand born from sisterhood, creativity, and the courage to believe in each other.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Violeta: Yes — there were many times when I didn’t just almost give up, I actually did. I stopped creating. I lost faith, I lost belief in myself and in my talent. But Jurate never did. She stood by me through it all — holding my hand, reminding me who I was, and seeing something in me that I couldn’t see in myself. She kept telling me that one day, every pain and every tear would make sense. And she was right. Without her unwavering belief, Violeta Lucce would not exist.
Suffering taught me depth — something success never could. It stripped away the noise and showed me what truly matters. Through pain, I learned resilience, empathy, and gratitude. It taught me to appreciate the quiet moments, to find beauty in imperfection, and to keep creating even when things feel uncertain. Success celebrates the outcome, but suffering shapes the soul — it’s what gave my work meaning and authenticity.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Jurate: We create from the heart — things that didn’t exist before, guided purely by passion and intuition. We never follow the crowd or chase trends; instead, we stay true to our vision, even when it means standing apart from what’s popular or easier to sell.
What really matters to us?
It’s authenticity.
It’s courage — the kind that burns quietly yet powerfully within you.
It’s the unshakable confidence to trust your intuition, even when the world doesn’t understand.
It’s the fearless act of being you — raw, original, and unapologetically true.
That power — the moment you realize you did it.
You followed your dream when no one else could see it.
You trusted your vision when it existed only in your heart.
And now, the impossible has your signature on it.
That’s the power of staying true to yourself — the power of creation, authenticity, and courage.
For us, authenticity isn’t just a value — it’s the foundation of everything we do.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Jurate: I’ve come to believe that my sister and I are both living the purpose we arrived here with.
My sister Violeta is fully immersed in her gift, creating extraordinary art with a depth and devotion that feels sacred. She discovered silk—her “religion,” as she calls it—and when her brush touches it, she disappears into pure creation. She never sketches; every design lives in her mind and flows directly onto the silk as if guided. A true master of her craft, her silk masterpieces now travel the world—displayed and sold on luxury cruise ships, in museums, at film festivals, and on red carpet galas.
And I, too, am proud to say that I am living my passion and doing what I was born to do. It took me 30 years to uncover my true mission. I walked away from my corporate life—the career I built, the safety I knew—and followed my heart to Hawaii. It was there, on that island of soul and spirit, that I began to understand who I truly am and why I’m here. My inner transformation gave birth to a business rooted in authenticity, purpose, and heart.
Every step since has been an act of honoring that calling. In the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of presenting my sister’s masterpieces across the globe and speaking on world stages about green fashion, sustainability, fine art, and a form of art couture the world had never seen before. I know with absolute clarity that I am living both my mission and my passion. I created this reality through unshakeable faith and a refusal to let fear decide my future. But above all, I trusted my intuition—even when the path looked impossible—and I listened to my heart every single step of the way.
