Inspiring Conversations with Simoneese Williams of The Self-Care BAr

Today we’d like to introduce you to Simoneese Williams.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey into self- care and wellness began after a very close call in 2017, long before The Self-Care Bar had a name or a vision. I had a frightening health scare tha year. The kind that forces you to stop! After a series of medical checks, the doctors told me something that shook me to my core. My body wasn’t failing… I was simply exhausted. Extremely exhausted. That was the actual diagnosis — extreme exhaustion

That moment changed everything. I had been operating at a pace that looked strong on the outside but was silently breaking me down on the inside. I realized I had mastered achievement but not restoration. I knew how to push, but I didn’t know how to pause.

Then in 2020, the pandemic hit. And suddenly I saw my story reflected everywhere – in colleagues, friends, mothers, leaders. People were anxious, overwhelmed, on edge, and stretched beyond capacity. Stress became a daily companion. Fear became a constant backdrop. Rest felt like a luxury. It confirmed what I had already lived: we don’t just need productivity; we desperately need care. Not the occasional “treat yourself” version, but deep, consistent self-care rooted in mindset, emotional balance, and spiritual grounding.

That realization became the seed for The Self-Care Bar, which really started out as Thrifty Style Box. I wanted to create a brand that didn’t just offer products, but instead offered peace. Something the encouraged people to breathe again. What started as small, intentional self-care boxes has now evolved into a growing wellness ecosystem: coaching, corporate training, premium lifestyle products, women’s events, and there is more to come.

Everything I build now is anchored in that 2017 wake-up call and the truth the pandemic made undeniable: If we don’t take care of ourselves, everything we’re building eventually suffers. And when we do take care of ourselves, we become unstoppable.

My story is still being written, but it’s one rooted in faith, resilience, and a mission to help people, especially women, live softer, stronger, more aligned lives.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. Infact, it has been anything but smooth. I’ve faced almost every challenge entrepreneurs quietly battle behind the scenes. In the early days, I struggled with building a clear operating model and figuring out how to scale something that started so organically. I am still figuring this out. Funding was a challenge, balancing full-time corporate role with building a brand was a challenge, and trying to grow a business with doing all that has its own kind of emotional weight.

There were and still are moments when I questioned everything – the timing, the vision, the finances, the market. And because I didn’t come from a traditional wellness or retail background, I had to learn and is still learning everything from scratch. From product sourcing, supply chain, marketing, branding, and the realities of running a business in a competitive landscape. It really is alot.

Still, each struggle shaped the brand into what it is now. The rough patches forces me to build smarter systems, to evolve my mindset, and to trust God in ways I hadn’t before. They pushed me to stay aligned with the mission: helping people take better care of themselves.

So no, it hasn’t been smooth, but it has been purposeful. And every challenge became a catalyst that strengthened both me and The Self-Care Bar.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Self-Care BAr?
The Self-Care Bar is a premium wellness and lifestyle brand dedicated to helping people move from overwhelm to alignment. We create intentional self-care experiences! From curated wellness boxes to coaching, corporate workshops, and signature women’s events.

We’re known for our beautifully crafted self-care boxes and our holistic approach that blends faith, mindset, and lifestyle. What sets us apart is that our brand was born from lived experience. I personally walked through burnout, exhaustion, and emotional overload, so everything we offer is designed with real transformation in mind.

Our ecosystem now includes:
• Curated self-care boxes
• Mindset and self-care coaching
• Corporate wellness programs
• Women’s events and retreats
• And soon, a restorative wellness product line

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the impact-seeing women regain confidence, find peace, and rebuild themselves using the tools we provide. At its core, The Self-Care Bar isn’t just a business. It’s a movement reminding people that peace, rest, and emotional strength are not optional or luxuries. They are necessities.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I have two. One is that nothing great is built overnight. You have to be willing to keep working, keep refining, and keep showing up long after the excitement fades. Progress is often quiet, results take time, and consistency compounds.

The second lesson is to trust the One who gave you the vision. There were seasons when the path didn’t make sense, the timing felt off, or the resources weren’t there. But every time I surrendered the process and trusted God, things aligned in ways I couldn’t have orchestrated on my own.

So for me, the journey has been a blend of discipline and faith: put in the work, refine constantly, and trust the One who started the work in you to finish it.
