Today we’d like to introduce you to Craig Ridley.
Craig, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all started when my wife created her YouTube channel. I would usually hold the camera for her and take her pictures but I was bad at it.
With her being so consistent, eventually I had to get better. That’s when I had the thought, I could do this professionally for others as well. Parties, weddings etc and be creative enough to continue to capture and create memories & art through editing.
I started to subscribe to other film makers on YouTube and took notes from the information they put out there. Now here I am today, 5 years later and I’m amazed at how much I’ve grown in this business. I am so thankful for this journey.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My road has been smooth mainly, there have been moments where I struggled to get consistent bookings but throughout my time, My network has been a blessing to me with consistent referrals,
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m still working on a niche but I’d like to say sports and weddings have been my top productive videos.
I enjoy working those assignments a lot.
I’ve also stepped into the photography world to see how I can prosper in that field too
I’m most proud of my willingness to continue to learn.
I would say my personal side sets me apart from others, I consult with my clients before we get into pricing etc. I want them to know that their day is as important to me as it is to them and allow them to help me visualize their hopes for the final product.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Being with my family makes me happy, I have a wife who I’ve been with for 15 years and 3 kids, they motivate me so much to be the best that I can be.
Getting great feedback makes me happy, it helps me confirm why I chose to go this profession to get the excitement from the clients when they see what I’ve created for their memories.
