An Inspired Chat with Willy Martin of Miami

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Willy Martin. Check out our conversation below.

Willy, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
People often think that one minute of video takes one minute to make — and that couldn’t be further from the truth. Behind every short clip there’s a full process: brainstorming, scripting, filming, editing, adjusting lighting, sound, timing, colors… and sometimes even doing it all over again. Content creation is storytelling, and storytelling takes time, love, and intention. I think that’s what people usually miss — that what looks spontaneous usually has a lot of work (and a few coffee refills) behind it.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
“Hi, I’m Willy Martin — actor, TV host, content creator, and the kind of person who’s always creating something new. I’m the host of Mi Amor Con Te Quiero, an entertainment streaming show where we mix pop culture, spicy gossips, and humor — all with a fun and very real vibe.

Beyond that, I run LUMA Creative Management, where we help brands tell their stories with emotion and strategy, and I also share reflections through Corazón en Candela, my personal space for healing and connection.

What makes my work special is that everything I do comes from a genuine place — I love creating moments that make people feel, think, and smile. That’s really the soul of everything I touch.”

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
“Before the world told me who I had to be, I was just a kid full of curiosity — always performing, creating stories, and seeing magic in everything around me. I didn’t know what fame or success meant; I just wanted to express myself and make people feel something.

Along the way, life — and the industry — try to put you in boxes, but I’ve learned to come back to that kid. The one who dreamed big, played without fear, and believed that being different was his superpower.”

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
“Yes, many times. There have been moments when I felt tired, lost, or questioned everything I was doing. But somehow, every time I get close to giving up, something — or someone — reminds me why I started. And I come back stronger.

I’ve learned that giving up isn’t the opposite of success; it’s part of the process. Sometimes you need to pause, fall, or even doubt yourself to find a deeper version of your purpose.”

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
“What really matters to me is connection. Real, human connection. I care about the laughs, the conversations that go deep, the kind of moments that stay with you long after they happen.

I’ve never been about perfection or appearances — I’m about authenticity. I like creating spaces where people can be themselves, where they feel seen, inspired, or even just understood for a second.

At the end of the day, that’s what fills me up — genuine energy, love, and stories that remind us we’re all trying to figure life out together.”

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
“If I knew I had ten years left, I’d stop worrying so much about how things ‘should’ be. I’d stop overthinking, overplanning, and trying to make everything perfect.

I’d focus even more on living — on laughing louder, traveling lighter, loving harder, and saying ‘yes’ to what feels right, even if it scares me.

Life moves fast, and I’ve realized the best moments usually happen when you let go of control and just live.”
