Meet Bob Brudzinski of Bru’s Room

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bob Brudzinski.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Bob. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In the early 1980’s I used to go to the Wings N Things restaurants a lot when I played for the Dolphins. The owner, Ed, who is originally from Buffalo, opened the first wing restaurant in south Florida. We became friends and he talked me into getting into the restaurant and bar business with him. In 1989 we opened the first Bru’s Room Sports Grill in Margate, Florida. From there we kept expanding. While Eddie is no longer a partner, my new partner, Henry Rondon, has the same drive that I do and there are presently there are 8 corporate-owned locations and 2 licensee restaurants with plans for expansion.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

We have had many obstacles and challenges throughout the 29 years Bru’s Room has been in business. When Bru’s Room started in 1989, there wasn’t the competition there is today. Every year there are more restaurants to compete against and everyone has TVs in their restaurants to show sporting events, so we have had to dig deep to ensure our longevity. The restaurant business is not an easy business to succeed in, but over the years we fought. We have made it through the ups and downs by hiring good employees that care and by putting out a good product that ensures a first time visitor becomes a regular guest.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Bru’s Room – what should we know?
We are not just a regular restaurant. Bru’s Room Sports Grill is a 3 in 1 restaurant. First, we have the main inside bar where all the guests can get crazy and loud, cheering for their favorite teams or for any of the awesome entertainment that we offer, live music, poker, billiards & trivia. Second, we have an outdoor patio & bar for the guests that want to be outside and enjoy this great Florida weather.

Third, is what we call “Family Dining”. This is where anyone who wants to have a quieter dining experience. We have a game room where the parents can give the kid(s) a couple of bucks to play games while mom and dad enjoy their meals. We, of course, are known for our WINGS, especially the Triple Threat wings. Our food is predominately homemade and fresh, not frozen like many restaurants. It may cost us a little more in food and labor costs, but we think it’s worth it and we know our guests do too. Great food and service is what we strive for and what sets us apart from the others.

We are also very proud of the Bru’s Buddies Community Legacy Program (a 501C3 founded by Bru’s Room) that was established to award scholarships to students and contributes to dozens of other non-profit organizations in our communities.

Here at the Bru’s Room, Great taste is just the beginning!

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I relate everything back to sports, so I feel strongly that our success is a direct reflection of hard work, dedication and teamwork. Everyone has their place and a job to do, from the head coach down, and if you find the right people, you win every time.

Great taste is just the beginning!
