Check Out Hurrem Kahraman’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hurrem Kahraman.

Hi Hurrem, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey in the beauty industry years ago with a passion for helping people feel confident and beautiful. After gaining experience and building my skills, I re-owned White Space Salon in Miami Beach, taking it over from the previous owner and giving it a fresh new direction. That success inspired me to launch Miami Cosmetology Academy, where I now help others build licensed careers in beauty. It’s been an amazing journey growing from stylist to salon owner and educator, doing what I love every day.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Taking over an existing salon came with challenges — rebuilding the brand, creating a new team culture, and earning clients’ trust all took time and consistency. I’ve also faced the ups and downs of being a small business owner in Miami Beach, from managing operations to balancing family life. But every obstacle pushed me to grow stronger, stay creative, and focus on my bigger vision — building both a successful salon and a beauty academy that inspires others.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At White Space Salon, we specialize in modern color techniques like balayage, highlights, extensions, and luxury blowouts — combining high-end service with a relaxed Miami Beach vibe. I’m most proud of the atmosphere we’ve built: stylish yet warm, where every client feels cared for and confident.

What sets us apart is our focus on education and growth — not just for clients, but for stylists too. That’s why I launched Miami Cosmetology Academy, to help the next generation of beauty professionals build real, licensed careers with confidence and creativity. For me, it’s about passion, purpose, and empowering others through beauty.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I believe the best mentors often come through real connections — people you meet while doing what you love. For me, I’ve learned the most from other salon owners, educators, and even clients who share their experiences. My advice is to stay open, ask questions, and never be afraid to reach out. Networking isn’t just about business — it’s about building genuine relationships with people who inspire and challenge you to grow.
