Chiara Kevorkian shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Chiara, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I feel called to expand into sharing my work with more people. In the past, I hesitated to open myself to a wider audience because it meant being exposed. Now, I’m learning that this openness is part of the path: an ongoing practice of trust, from which more authentic connections can flourish and I can, hopefully, be of greater service to the whole.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Chiara and I am the founder of Alma Holistic Wellness. I guide people through deep and transformative experiences. What makes my work unique is the way I weave together different wellness modalities like energy work, movement, sound, breath, meditation, spiritual tools and herbal preparations into experiences that lead inwards.
My brand, Alma, is a space where I share not only services like Reiki or Astrology sessions, group sound baths or yoga classes but also handmade aromatherapy products like oils, candles and teas that are infused with intention and complement all the other practices, delivering a true holistic experience. Everything I create and offer is about helping people find balance, union and sense of sacredness in their everyday lives.
Right now, I’m working on expanding my offerings into online spaces so that people can access wellness experiences from the comfort of their homes, while still feeling deeply connected with themselves and each other no matter where they are in the world.
For me this is not just a business, it is a calling to bring more harmony, peace and awareness into the world.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
When I was six years old, I saw a girl my age working in the street. She was barefoot and her clothes were worn, yet she felt like a mirror of myself despite our different circumstances. I walked over to give her a coin I had saved in my pocket and as we stood smiling at each other, something clicked inside me. In that instant, I realized how little truly separates us as human beings and how much more unites us. I remember that moment vividly. It shaped my belief that we are all one, and it continues to guide the way I see people and the work I do.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I believe suffering can be one of our greatest teachers. Life has a way of bringing us to our knees and cracking us open, and in those moments we discover layers of ourselves we never knew existed. It has taught me humility, reminding me that life can change in an instant and that we are never as in control as we imagine. It has taught me self-love, because when everything else fell away, I had to learn to be my own anchor. It awakened my fighting spirit, while also deepening my compassion, empathy and understanding of others.
Most of all, it revealed the alchemy within pain: the way suffering can be transformed into light, resilience, and ultimately more love, faith, hope, purpose and meaning. That is something success could never give.
I often tell my clients: we don’t go out into the world seeking or romanticizing suffering, but when it comes, and it will come for all of us at some point, let it do its work. Let it reveal what it came to reveal: what layers are ready to be shed, what wisdom is ready to be unlocked. Suffering can uncover hidden treasures within us. I promise you, a new person will emerge from that fire. Trust your Soul’s guidance and the purpose of this season. As I read somewhere: we will go into the darkness, and we will return as the sun.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies in the wellness industry is that healing is quick and one-size-fits-all. In reality, true healing is a gradual journey, unique to each person.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am lucky enough to say I am absolutely doing what I was born to do!
