Brittney, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Energy is most definitely important to me because it doesn’t lie. Your body reacts to energy and by the way it reacts you can tell if something or someone is good for you and your purpose. People can approach you being nice with a smile but if your energy feels off around that person you’re going to see that it’s just a mask this individual is wearing. Same goes for things and opportunities you want to pursue, you’ll get that nudge or instant thought that will allow you to make the right decision.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Brittney but everyone calls me Peebee. I’m a jack of all trades so I wouldn’t necessarily put myself in a category because I believe as I grow, I learn and do more to expand my unique qualities. But I will say that my brand and what I do is to show beauty and confidence in everything! You can work hard and still look fabulous while doing it! I believe I can do anything I put my mind into so I tap into doing different things and make it a lifestyle. I specialize in cosmetics as far as hair and makeup. I’m a natural herbalist and believe in staying healthy and fit while also helping others with starting a healthy lifestyle journey. Last but not least, I’m also a fashion creator ! I love to bring my visions into life! It’s a form of expression for me! It’s fun, it’s girly, it’s pretty and most importantly it’s ME! And no one does it like me. I’m different and I love it and I embrace it!!
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
I would say a past relationship I was in for awhile and my relationship with family. They showed me to love myself first and to not accept breadcrumbs from anyone! The lack of genuine pure love I received from them plus verbal and even physical abuse from my past partner showed me that love is not painful it doesn’t belittle you it doesn’t make you question your worth here on earth. So them abandoning me forced me to call on Yahweh more. It forced me to realize all I need is him, he’s the only one that can help me but he SAVED ME and he restored my faith, my confidence and my self worth. God showed me who I am and I never looked back nor will I ever again.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes! Alot of times! But I kept telling myself “tomorrow you might win girl” I still tell myself that so that’s why I’m still here, still working, still believing! It’s not easy but I wake up everyday and try again and again and again, I can’t lose. See one thing about me is I’m a solider in a battlefield. I was given this position in life because I have tough skin, I can complete any mission, I’m not a quitter and I’m smart. So If i been battling this long why would I stop now? We’re all soldiers in a battlefield but you gotta know you’re going to be alright. I know Yahweh got me and he’s going to bless me tremendously! My faith is more than a thousand mustard seeds. I say that to say this, it’s ok to feel like giving up it’s ok to cry but GET UPPP!! Show your faith , chin up with confidence! Never give up on yourself because you have to be your biggest fan first before anyone else. If you give up on you how you expect anyone else to root for you?
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, 1000% Me! Authentic! Now I don’t show my personal life , good or bad it’s nobody business. But what I do show is my creativity. I show my passion and what I like to do how I like to look but you won’t see who I’m with , dating, what new opportunities I just got or what I just lost or anything of that nature. People don’t want to help they just want something to talk about so why would I tell you what I have going on? No that’s ridiculous! I’m going to show you what I can do, this idea I had in mind and how I expressed it in a creative way. But thats all me the real me! And people can like it or not I don’t care because it’s what I like.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand that what you put out into this world you get it right back. Karma is real good or bad. So I try everyday to make sure I send out positivity no matter how much negativity or evil eye is being sent my way. People wonder like “dang I seen her go through this and that how is she still smiling, how is she able to do this and that” like baby my energy is too high to let the devil and his little minions trick me out of my blessings. Lol like seriously I understand them down times were just teaching and showing me things I was blind too, but if I keep my thoughts cleared and positive throughout this battle watch what happens next… A lot of people don’t understand that and that’s why they don’t understand me. My smiles aren’t fake it’s faith.
