Barbara Andradw of South Beach on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Barbara Andradw shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Barbara, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I’m most proud of having built a true community of mothers from all over Brazil, and a network of trust with clients who know we’re always looking for the very best for them. Looking back, I can see that every step was worth it.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Bárbara, the founder of Miami Baby Concierge, a company dedicated to helping families shop smarter and safer when preparing for their baby’s arrival. Our mission is to simplify the entire process of building a baby registry, offering expert guidance, exclusive discounts, and a carefully curated selection of products approved by trusted pediatric and maternal specialists.

What makes Miami Baby Concierge unique is our focus on education and trust — we don’t just help families shop; we help them understand what truly matters during the first year of their baby’s life. Over the years, we’ve built a strong community of mothers from all over Brazil who see us not only as advisors, but as partners in one of the most special moments of their lives.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My father taught me the most about work. He was an entrepreneur in Brazil who owned construction stores, and I’ve always seen him as a visionary man — intelligent, hardworking, and deeply committed to honesty and purpose. From him, I learned not only about entrepreneurship and dedication, but also about values — that real success comes when your work has meaning and creates a positive impact on people’s lives.

Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
Yes, I do. In my first job in Brazil, when I worked as a teacher and later as a coordinator at an English school, I had a truly inspiring boss who genuinely listened to me. She saw my potential even before I did, and her trust and encouragement helped shape many of the qualities that today make all the difference in my work.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, the public version of me is very close to my true self. My work is deeply connected to my personal life — they blend together in a meaningful way. What I do is a reflection of who I am and what I believe in.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
“I think people sometimes misunderstand the work we do at Miami Baby. They may think we are just a company that helps buy products and earns commissions. In reality, we don’t take commissions from any store — our focus is entirely on the client. We work to provide a complete, meaningful experience that truly makes a difference in families’ lives, not just to help them shop.
