An Inspired Chat with Nathaly Rosa

We recently had the chance to connect with Nathaly Rosa and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nathaly, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Yes, I would absolutely hire me. I bring a combination of creative vision, technical skills, and a client-first mindset to every session and every client. I understand that photography isn’t just about capturing beautiful images, it’s about telling a story, creating an experience, and delivering work that aligns with the client’s visions and ideas. I’m reliable, detail-oriented, and I take pride in maintaining a professional yet comfortable environment during sessions, whether I’m working solo or with a team for a production or event. I also value continuous growth and I’m always working on learning new techniques, keeping up with trends, and refining my craft. So yes, if I were hiring and looking for someone who’s passionate, professional, and genuinely invested in their craft, I’d hire definitely me.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Nathaly, the photographer behind Photos of Nat. I’ve had my business for about 8 years and I’m so thankful and blessed to be able to do what I love and I’m passionate about, as well as be able to make amazing connections and experiences.
I’m all about capturing real moments – the authentic, genuine, and the in-between stuff that really tell a story. Whether it’s a portrait session, an event, or some creative brand photos, I love helping people feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera so we can create something that feels unique and creative.

I started this business because photography has always been more than just a hobby for me, it’s a way to connect with people and freeze moments and create memories that’ll last forever. Over time, it grew into something much bigger than I expected, and I’ve been lucky to work with amazing clients who trust me to tell their stories and bring their visions to life.

What makes my work different is that I really focus on the experience I provide for my clients. I want every session to feel fun, easy, and personal, like if we’re just hanging out.. and the outcome is you happen to walk away with a gallery of images that feel like you and represent your essence. Lately, I’ve been working on some exciting new projects, expanding what I offer, and continuing to push myself creatively. I’m always looking for new ways to grow, innovate, and keep things feeling inspiring both for me and the people I work with. I’m constantly looking for new creative concepts and content to bring to life and writing down all my ideas because I never know when I might need something from my playbook!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Definitely my family and friends, they have always been very supportive and encouraging. But most importantly, my mom. She’s the one who has always believed in me, even before I fully believed in myself. She saw something in me – my creativity, my eye for detail, my drive even long before I had the confidence to call myself a photographer or think I could turn this into a business.

Whenever I doubted myself or felt like giving up, my mom and friends reminded me of my potential and pushed me to keep going. Looking back, a lot of what I’ve built wouldn’t have happened without them and their encouragement and their belief in who I could become and how far my business could go. They saw the bigger picture before I did and it was through their encouragement, love and support that I’ve made it to where I am today.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self, “You didn’t deserve everything that happened to you, and it’s not your fault. You are not broken you are becoming” and “do more of what makes you happy.”
There were times I carried so much pain in silence, thinking I had to stay strong, hold it all together, and pretend I was okay. I wish I could go back and wrap that version of me in the biggest hug and let them know that healing is possible… that the hurt won’t last forever, and that softness isn’t weakness.
I’d remind them that survival was brave, but healing is even braver, and that one day, they’d not only find peace, but also create beauty from the very things that once made them feel small. That they would turn pain into purpose, and even joy. I’d want them to know that everything they’re feeling is valid, but it’s not the end of the story. Better days are coming. And they are worthy of love, kindness, and safety.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m deeply committed to my own inner peace, growth and to becoming the best version of myself, day by day. It’s not always easy, and it’s definitely not a straight line because growth isn’t linear, but it’s a lifelong project I’ve fully embraced.
After everything I’ve been through, I’ve learned that real peace doesn’t come from the outside but instead it comes from doing the inner work, embracing the hard truths, and learning to be gentle with yourself through the process. I’ve made it a priority to heal, unlearn old patterns, and give myself permission to grow even when it’s uncomfortable.
Some days that growth looks like setting boundaries, other days it’s choosing to rest, or simply reminding myself that I’m enough as I am. But every single day, I try to show up for myself with love and intention.
This commitment to inner peace and self-growth is the foundation for everything else I do in life, in my relationships, and in my creative work. I know I’ll be working on this for the rest of my life, and honestly, I’m okay with that. It’s the most important project I’ll ever take on, and I’m proud of who I’m becoming. And I am forever blessed and highly favored.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, I could, and I think that’s one of the most important lessons I’ve learned. For me, everything I do comes from a place of love and purpose, not recognition. Of course, it feels good to be seen and appreciated, but I’ve learned that true fulfillment comes from knowing that I’ve shown up fully for myself, that I’ve poured my heart into something that feels meaningful to me. There have been plenty of times when no one was watching, when the progress was quiet, and the growth was unseen, but those moments have taught me the most. That’s where integrity lives. That’s where passion and dedication gets tested and refined. Whether it’s through my work, everyday life, or my creative journey, I try to give my best because it’s a reflection of who I am, not what I could possibly get in return. Praise fades, but purpose lasts. So yes, I’d still give it my all because the work, the growth, and the peace that come from giving your best/all is the most rewarding thing in the end,
