Tina Marshall shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Tina, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’m being called to step fully into my power — to stop playing small and embrace the spotlight I once ran from. For a long time, I was afraid to be seen, to trust that my story was enough. Now, I understand that Diva Sweettr3ats isn’t just about desserts; it’s about the confidence, the legacy, and faith in what you’re building. I’m walking courageously in purpose, letting my light — and my sweetness — shine for others to see.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Tina Marshall, and I’m the owner and creative force behind Diva Sweettr3ats, a boutique-style dessert brand inspired by three generations of women who share a love for baking, cooking, and art. What makes Diva Sweettr3ats special is that it’s not just about desserts — it’s about confidence, creativity, and legacy. Each custom creation tells a story, blending elegance with a touch of diva-inspired glam to make every celebration unforgettable.
I started this brand during a time when I needed to rediscover myself, and what began as a hobby soon became my purpose. Today, Diva Sweettr3ats stands as a symbol of faith, resilience, and creativity — serving sweetness with meaning. I’m excited to continue expanding my brand, collaborating with other Miami creatives, and inspiring others to embrace their own journey with style, courage, and a little sparkle.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
Growing up, I believed that success had to look a certain way — that it came with titles, degrees, or traditional careers. I didn’t realize that creativity could be a calling, too. I no longer believe that my path has to mirror anyone else’s. My journey showed me that fulfillment doesn’t come from perfection, but from purpose. Today, I see myself as both an artist and an entrepreneur — someone who turned passion, faith, and family legacy into a brand that inspires others to do the same.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that fear doesn’t disappear — you just learn how to move through it. Every time I chose courage over comfort, I discovered a new version of myself waiting on the other side. I’ve learned that faith, consistency, and self-belief are the real foundations of any business — not perfection.
My advice to anyone facing fear is this: start anyway. Don’t wait until you feel ready, because readiness comes with movement. Trust your vision, stay true to your purpose, and let your journey unfold one step at a time. You’ll be amazed at how far faith and persistence can take you. What was once fear will eventually become fuel — the very thing that drives you toward your purpose.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m committed to building a lasting legacy through Diva Sweettr3ats — one that goes beyond desserts and becomes a symbol of faith, creativity, and empowerment. I truly believe that what you create with purpose can inspire generations, and that’s what keeps me going no matter how long it takes.
My goal isn’t just to run a successful business; it’s to create opportunities — to mentor young creatives, to remind women that it’s never too late to start over, and to show that passion and perseverance can turn a small idea into something meaningful.
I’m also deeply committed to using my platform to give back to the community that helped shape me — whether it’s supporting students, hosting drives, or sharing my story to encourage someone else’s. I believe in building slow, steady, and strong — because real impact takes time, and anything rooted in love and purpose is always worth the wait.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What light inside you have you been dimming?
For a long time, I dimmed the light of self-belief — the part of me that knew I was capable of more. I downplayed my creativity, my voice, and even my dreams because I was afraid of standing out or failing. I thought humility meant staying quiet, when in reality, it just meant hiding my light. Through this journey with Diva Sweettr3ats, I’ve learned that my creativity isn’t something to tone down; it’s something to share. My light was never meant to be dimmed — it was meant to guide others who are still finding theirs.
As for my legacy, I want it to shine just as brightly. I want people to remember that I led with faith, purpose, and heart — that I turned my struggles into strength and my passion into a platform that uplifted others. Diva Sweettr3ats may have started as a dessert brand, but it’s grown and continuing to grow into something deeper: a reminder that even the sweetest dreams take courage, patience, and belief.
My legacy is about lighting the path for others — showing that no matter where you start, you can create something beautiful, meaningful, and lasting when you refuse to hide your light.
